Cervelo R2 from a few years back. Not done a lot to it other than bottle cages and saddle since I got it, as I don't ride it enough to merit the upgrades, but had wanted a Cervelo since I saw them as a teenager in the shop window of East Street Cycles in Farnham and figured as long as the frame is good I can add as I go.
Definitely lucked out on the paint job they did for them that year.

Anyone recommend a trouser clip? Was going to get a brooks one but read they are small and fall off in reviews?

I’ve used bikehead before. Owned by some Swedish guys. My only qualm was the supersix I rented (Di2) had ultrasport tyres…. I know I’m a bit of a bike snob but those tyres really suck and completely ruined the ride
I bought a post carry co transfer case and brought my bike with me this week. Has been great although weather not amazing….

Hired a Kuota from Pollensa Cycling Team's shop…never hiring again.
The shop was great but it's just not enjoyable riding an alien bike
Ultra sport tyres; like swede said - not a snob, but you notice the difference.
An ancient Selle saddle that's like sitting on a brick. Felt like I was gonna pass out 30 miles in yesterday due the pain in my perineum.
Lesson learnt.

Bikecamp in palma offer high end cervelos for €50-70 per day. Pricey but decent (and come with GP5000s)
Goldie you might be better off renting a bike box to take your own bike out next time

I've always flown with my bike but seems like unnecessary inconvenience / stress / cost.
What about taking your own pedals and saddle with you? Might be a bit much to bring your own tyres tho.

I preferred taking my own bike until I had a bottom bracket issue and couldn't get it fixed quickly (I ride Campy so you could say that situation was inevitable)…
the Bikehead guys are great, just make sure you specify tires. The guys I rode with last week had Mavic tires on and they were happy with them. agree with taking your own saddle and pedals too - I always do this (and Garmin mount / saddle bag).
for what it's worth the Rapha staff in Palma were f*cking awful. really patronising and zero f*cks given about a couple of minor issues I had with the bike during the week. the bike hire is great value but the staff really let the side down.

I think if you’re going for a week it’s worth the hassle to bring your own… for a long weekend or something I’d definitely rent and bring saddle/pedals etc
each to their own though - I just really like riding my own bike and if I rented for a week I’d have to drop like €250-300 for a similarly specced bike….

Worlds road race is mental, smashing each other to bits. Fantastic scenes with all the fans out too.
