Finally got it together and ridden. Did a long ride tonight, feels lovely, absolutely love it. Pretty proud, built the wheels and all; proper chuffed.

Steamroller, open pros - gran compe, dt comp, miche advanced 170mm (i've a 34" inseam), eai cog and da lockring, running 49/17.

So thanks for the tips lads. And to sweede whom i bugged a fair bit Smiling

OK, i've got one please. I think i already know the answer, but would appreciate some professional verification.

I currently have on my Dolan track bike a Navigator Pista wheelset running fixed/fixed with two 15t cogs and i am considering threading a 15t freewheel or maybe a 17T cog to the unused 15t cog side and fastening it with a lock ring. Will this be OK do you think, or would a freewheel not fasten safely on a fix fix hub? (Granted i will be running brakes when on the freewheel so that safety is not what i am referring to)

Also what would be the best 15t freewheel you would recommend?

Cheers for any advice anyone can offer.

Running a freewheel would be fine, providing that it is threaded on correctly and the lockring is tight. Wouldn't recommend putting a 17t cog on unless you have enough room in the dropouts. The standard 3/32 Shimano freewheels (which is what we sell most of) is your safest option, and I wouldn't recommend a Dicta freewhweel.

Not sure where to find 15t freewheel unfortunately.

Are there any good deals on bikes for the Tour this year? Know manufacturers sometimes do good promos if their teams are doing well etc

Pretty sure you wont be able to put a lock ring on as the freewheel will hang over the lockring thread but you shouldn't need one aslong as you get it tight on the cog thread, even if you can i think the lock ring would probaby just rub and cause drag on the freewheel.

Not sure if either of these come in 15t but the acs claw and odyssey are the best freewheels about atm

Edit: 39-11 on 20" = speed
