John Williams obviously immense, but a lot of his most famous stuff is inspired by (/ripped pretty blatantly from) past classical pieces. And I could listen to Morricone stuff all day but only appreciate JW's music in films, too much chromaticism to be enjoyable on its own for me, personal preference though innit

I once met him walking down Filey seafront
I was about 10 at the time and I plucked up the courage to go and get his autograph
I walked over and said “can I get your autograph Bobby” Oops
