After a pair of overdyed slim black jeans…had a look at Acne Max Cash but would appreciate any other suggestions.

Black coated thin finns are great. If they're too slim they also do coated slim jims

San wrote: proper noob question: just bought some levis and they are sanforized but the tags say they will bleed and should wash before wearing. shall i just soak them in the tub to take away much of the bleeding prior to wear or bung them in the washing machine?

Sanforizing prevents them from shrinking, I'm pretty certain it will have no effect on whether or not they bleed. If you want them to stay dark for as long as possible, I would have thought a soak in the bath instead of a wash in the machine.

dont bother doing nothing, just wear them mate. soaking doesnt prevent bleed, a bleeders a bleeder and theres nothing you can do to change it. (tho it should be illegal imo)

anyone have any experience with or opinions on kato denim? the bureau have a pair, one wash, £107 reduced from £215, just thinking of an alternative to my usual, apc rescues. i'm of the tree trunk thighs variety so i'm limited to what i can squeeze into!

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but a few other opinions would help. I bought some APC NS a few months back to wear this winter. I seem to have lost some weight around the middle cos when I put them on yesterday they were not as tight as is recommended they be due to the stretchy nature. They were snug at best. Sell and downsize?

Just an update to say that I am L-O-V-I-N-G my new Pure Blue Japan jeans. They're really a step-up from my old nudies.

I think I'm going to try out some New Standards finally. When I wear a 33 waist in denim they comfortable but a bit loose but 32s are a bit tight. I'm in between 32 and 33 I would say.

So what size should I get in NS? 30 or 31?

I wear a 32 in Levis, and went for a 30 NS. I think I'm the same as you as I am sure a 33 would fit me comfortably but loose - but I always buy the size that I can just about do up to allow for a bit of stretch.

So for you, I'd say 31 or failing that 30 (I can't remember if they do 31)

If you do go for 30, they'll be mad tight but they stretch out so much.

Everyone sizes down 1 or 2 in these.

Really like the 5 pocket regular fits, not so keen on the constructed ones. The washes and quality are impressive in the flesh.
