i want stacking but they're not stiff enough to cope with 5 inches of it.

Thanks, am happy enough with them now. Wear on the knees is just normal, didn't wash them for about 6 months I think and then washed them about every 2 months after that.

When we hit may will have had my nashvilles 10 months, worn them about twice /three times a week in rotation. Starting to pick up some nice detail now. So do i just stick with it for a while or what. Bought 28 so stretched to a 30 (my size), so not too loose

Gonna purchase some soon. Likely something fairly safe like Diesel.

Any suggestions for other brands in that price bracket making nice, simple boot cut or flared jeans….?

why would you even wanna wear bootcut

It's just what I like, and I know now it goes against the grain in here. I have a huge problem with the tongue of my shoes sticking out beyond the bottom of my trousers. My usual flared bottoms only leave about 3 inched of shoe visible at the front…..

and whoever wants flared diesel jeans - do you realise this is a fashion forum? you're unlikely to get much praise for such denim from many posters on here.

I'm whoever, there's a name above the avitar.

I just asked a question, that's all. I clearly didn't realze there's only one fashion & one look.

I personally don't like the look of stacking, even on very thin women, where I can understand the appeal. I'm a heavy-set guy, particularly with very large calves, and narrow fit jeans look stupid on me.

I'll go and have a look at the alternitives some people threw out. Thanks.

(no flame) there are plenty of decent makes out there to suit (almost) any build. i always reckon you can do better if you scope it a bit and don't settle for diesel or some other high-street brand like that. they tend to be overpriced and poorly constructed. from what you say, edwin (washed or raw) might fit your requirements. try interstate or american classics in covent garden. lee and lee reproductions (sugar cane et al) might also be worth checking out but the repros tend to be pretty expensive.

I'm 5"8 and these are hemmed to 34" (perfect imo)

Don't care what anyone says about never hemming when they were 38" they looked terrible and I looked like a fool with jeans bunched half way up my legs.
Instant BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! for hemming Diors.

If you were looking at diesel prices, and washed denim you could also look at PRPS, which you will get for diesel(ish) prices from www.newton-store.com (they're almost double their prices in the UK)…

is there a way of keeping jeans as if they have just been washed, like stiff and not floppy. Becuase I bought some diesels the other day and they are awsome when theyve just come out of the wash but after a couple of hours they just go really floppy and ge ta bit too baggy at the ends. Any ideas?

Also, i need some sort of jsut a little bit tighter than regular straightleg fit jeans. Any one got any ideas? I Know its pretty vague and inexplanatory, but if any one can work out what I'm trying to say, it would be much apreceated.
safe.

safe.

You need starch to keep your jeans stiff. Also, guessing that you did, dont use fabric conditioner when you wash them, as it promotes exactly the opposite qualities that you seek.

Regarding the jeans, check the thread back a few pages, APC New Standards sound like what you are after.

thats what will happen with diesel jeans though i'm guessing… as they won't be raw.. so won't be as stiff as raw jeans so when they come out of the wash and a worn they will go soft again.. i'm guessing they were soft when you bought them (compared to some raw jeans)

If you really want them stiff then buy some starch, you can either get spray on or wash in stuff, makes them seriously hard.

I am usually a 32/34 and when I first put new/washed jeans on the fit is pretty perfect but after a few hours most of my skinnies are falling down by my knees. I was wondering if I buy some 30 waist skinnies, after a few wears will they fit snug. Ive wore some before and could barely do up the buttons but was thinking after a while they would stretch out to fit perfect. Any experiences?

+ I prefer to not wear a belt, dunno why?
