Ed-55 is very tapered from the knee down (7"ish leg opening) but a bit more relaxed through the thighs, depending on your build you are/ what exactly you are after.
If you've not bought Edwin before, size down 2 from your true (eg suit) waist size as they are 2" bigger than tagged -like APC's…

I'm a complete newb when it comes to raw denim, and need some advice.
Got some APC NS off here in a 32, they were comfortable everywhere except thighs and arse and were a little too tight (and weren't giving) so had to let them go.
Was intending on buying some more in a 33 (can't afford to buy brand new), had no luck on ebay/here etc.
So basically I need some advice. I like a tapered fit of the NS, but I need a loser thigh.
Any ideas at what I could be looking at?
Cheers.

8 months, but had been through a 60 degree wash so had stiffened up.
They were stretching, but just not enough in the thigh/crotch. Put it this way, I couldn't skip a step on the stairs.

See my post above, hangthedj, and get Edwin ed55. Exactly the way you described.
Also bear in mind apc denim does stretch loads, how long did you wear em for? I reckon they would have stretched.
Finally, at 33w and above there is a *huge* difference in sizing, there is one more button on the fly, loads more room in the hips, leg width, leg length etc so I don't think that will be a good idea. I was what I thought between 32-33 and RBI is how I found this info. Try em in a shop if you have to, and/or buy em from somewhere you can return if you must try it out but I guarantee you will not like the fit

@HangTheDJ: if you're going for a NS fit and nothing too skinny your options are numerous.
Edwins are a good bet as they always hit the sales (there were some going round not too long ago for 50% off? cant remember what site)
Lee 101s do nice cuts also (Got my pair off fuk a while ago, fit is bang tidy plus the epic fadez are settin in nicely)
http://www.oipolloi.com/Store/OiPolloi-DII-416-66-lee+101+s+selvage+jean+kaihara+denim+dry.html(out of stock but you get the idea.. £50 in sale. wouldn't pay retail ofc)
What about unbranded?
http://www.denimgeek.com/jeans-c19#m7Never owned a pair myself so can't vouch for em
Nudies are always always on sale. Look on the bay as well. You can pick up some nice nudies in the £30 price range. Dunno what the NS should compare to.. Slim Jim? Grim tim?
I picked up my diors off sufu (superfuture) for like a hundred quid. There are bargains to be had everywhere. And the more bargains you find are proportional to the amount of time you spend looking for them.. so if you want the most bang for your buck you need to keep looking!

Thanks a lot, really appreciate the replies.
@du tan, I didn't realise the difference between 32 and 33 was that vast in NS, I was expecting just another half an inch everywhere.
How long would you persevere with them before deciding they were too tight? I wore them solidly for like 4 days, notice a difference of them being loser everywhere except the upper thigh where there was just no room for maneuver?
@sj99, nice one, I really like the look of those Lee's, I'll have a look around for some, also there's a pair of Grim Tim's on ebay right now that could fit the bill.
Cheeers.

always wondered why there was such a huge difference between the 2 sizes. irritating.

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me, I take a 32 in NS (true 34) and they have stretched out enough so they are comfortable now but only just.
Cosign what Du Tan said, I copped a raw pair of ED55's in a 32 about a month ago and they are almost identical in the arse / thighs, if anything possibly a tiny bit tighter, but a lot slimmer from the knee down. If you are struggling with NS in a 32 then I don't think you'll get away with ED55's in a 32, I'd go for a 33 and see how you get on as they have a much smaller hem.
Nudies get a lot of hate on here as the denim is shit quality but they do fit well, dogfishmen have loads in the sale

yeah quality isn't the best (it's like 11oz italian denim or some shit no?) hence i definitely recommend hittin one only when its for a fraction of retail
