Had a pair of those black Browns Diors taken up at a local tailors & they bodged the hem with some wonky stitching.
Where do London heads take their denim for alterations?

Rufio, post them to denim doctor, he is great.

Rufio- take them to Son of a Stag, Truman brewery Brick lane. They can either chainstitch them for you (while you wait if they're not too busy) or take them to the repair tailor they use. Tell 'em I sent you.
Kushty- I wouldn't say the Allevols stretch much. Like all denims, there is some give when wearing them for a few days as the threads soften & stretch but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Certainly in the 15Oz's anyway. You'd probably get more give in the lower weight versions.
They do come up very long (I think a 36-38 inseam) but shrinkage is minimal. Just get them chainstitched after a hot/warm soak. Been wearing mine for about 18 months now and rate them very highly.
(ps- i'm wearing them in my avatar)

if you go to Son of a Stag, make sure you are absolutely clear what length you want em done to. you can go to changing room and get him to mark with chalk if necessary.
with denim doctor, he will do exactly as you ask

^ would suggest that for anywhere you go. Son of a stag will also advise you on further shrinkage, slight lifting of the hem as the honeycombs set in etc etc.

are you in their marketing department?
another fuker and I had mixed experiences there recently, whereby completely wrong lengths were hemmed. the sitation was resolved to my satisfation however I gave clear instructions which I expected to be observed.

No, but I used to work there and still do occasionally on the odd weekend.
I'm very fond of them all. They've been very good to me over the past couple of years.

Just had a chat to the Denim Doctor. Top bloke. Just thought I'd share that useful bit of info.

From what I can tell, the denim is the same quality as you're likely to get on regular high street Levi's, but features like the double layered back pockets and rubber cuffs (if slightly redundant on the slimmer styles) are a good shout for the skate market. I like the look of the tapered fits, and prefer the washes in comparison to stuff like Carhartt around the same price range. If you're after a sub £80 jean then I can't see why not to go for a pair if there's a wash you fancy.

I want some black cotton jeans, slim fit, with a 7 inch hem or less. Any suggestions?

^ I think all PS start as either 32" or 34" leg.
Just a quick post to let anyone waiting on stuff from Denim Doctor know that he's away on holiday this week and will be back at the weekend, I just got a call from some wifey at the tailors there. I'm guessing pairs sent down before the weekend there should be done and sent out by next weekend.
