Fuck, didn't think that these jeans were gonna bleed at all. They're still wearable no-one else would notice but i know and it annoys me, keep looking at em when im wearing them

Guys, just got some Edwin nashvilles, which I am planning to wash. Will they fade harder in stressed areas (behind knee, crotch area etc) if I wear them before washing, or will they fade down the same anyway.

(I am not sure if washing makes them more colourfast)

Thanks for any help.

You'll need to put a lot of wear into them before a wash shows up any real signs of fading mate. I think Edwin are sanforized so shouldn't need a wash or soak to shrink them, why you washing them?

If it's cos they need it go for it then wear them for 6 mnths.

Thanks mate -They do shrink when washed, and I am washing them because they are presently too big! I thought I read somewhere though, that they do lose colour more readily before they are washed (maybe because they have more colour in them!).

Anyway, I am going to put them on a few times before they go in the washer, so I suppose I'll see how they go…

Those UniQlo jeans look raw like, or maybe one wash, no difference really. Nice, bargain, love when shit like that happens.
Edwin Nashvilles will shrink in the wash and them being washed once will make pretty much no difference to fading. If you're wearing them for 6months plus, without washing would you want jeans that were too big anyway?

I just bought a pair of Nashvilles and had the same dilemma. Question answered without being asked. Nice one!

what do you guys recommend as a first pair of selvedge jeans? not sure its my thing, but want to buy a pair just as an experiment, so not too expensive but not shabby quality either lol.

what about sizes? ive heard that selvedge denim tends to stretch the more u wear it - normally how many sizes up/down do you guys go for selvedge?

also, i kno that starching selvedge denim will give more defined creases, honeycombs etc but does it have the same effect on 'normal', washed jeans?

how about a pair of nudies or apc depends on the actual brand itself about the sizing up/down

what type of fit do you want eleven?

Selvedge doesnt really mean much its really just an indication of quality, ie selvedge denim wont stretch more than non selvedge denim. Raw denim will however stretch more than washed denim. Sizing depends on brand…

sorry, confused selvedge and raw.

looking for a straight/baggy fit, considering regular cheap mondays at the moment due to their price and good reviews.

in my opinion the best fit to quality to price ratio belongs to APC. They do a straight leg regular fit model (new standard) or for a looser fit look at the 'rescues'.

You can get the raw New standards for about £60 delivered from the USA or a bit more from www.apc.fr

Edwin is also a good alternatively and can be picked up for a decent price if you shop around although in my experience the fit of the APCs is better.

Check out TK Maxx, they've got Calvin Klein black selvage in at the moment, bargain at £30.
