Ive got american pioneer cdj 800's with a djm400 mixer. I am in Spain so they therefore need a converter/adaptor (forget what its called) to lower the current running into them. My mate cam round the other day and plugged one deck and the mixer straight into the the wall. They no longer work. Will the board be burnt now or will i be able to fix them moderately cheaply?

The Redbull music academy is probably a good way to go if you want to start taking it serious. Need to get a few records out though as being purely a dj won't get you far.

hey paolo

more than likely it sounds like its buggered if you heard a fizz/bang/pop.. although there may be a fuse that was tripped (ddd may be able to provide some insight into that) rather than any serious damage.

I think usa runs off 34w power consumption and uk is 24w - so a step down transformer is needed. I used one with the old first gen xbox which i did the same as your pal and plugged it in to a uk socket and heard a fizz.. the replacement switch was about 50 or so pounds, i dont imagine a cdj not to have a trip switch of some sort so you may be alright if you try it with the step down.

Thanks billy, was no fizzing banging or popping or I would have directly fizzed banged an popped my mate in the face. I've got the step down transformer already, the idiot just didnt plug them in through it. Ill take them to the shop and hopefully damage of the decks and wallet will be minimal.

Polish chicks got no taste/style, wouldnt worry about it.

no need for any tricks mate….jut good music and seamless mixing is all that is required. (oh and the ability to throw your hands up in the air and say 'yes, come on, lets fucking ave it')

Any one know when the RedBull application forms become available, I heard that the questions they ask are pretty weird/intense
