Anyone have experience of buying kit off gumtree? How often are the bargains on there just dodgy sellers?

You should be able to providing your mixer has a couple of outputs. They usually have at least 2. If so a phono to 3.5mm jack from your mixer to the line in on your laptop should work ok for the recording and use the other output for the speakers. If you have only one output try to sit your laptop in the middle so the audio passes in on line in and back out again via the output on your laptop.

Don't wanna dick about with torrents etc, looking for someone to send me a couple of DVDs with the software and codes already on them.

Can sort out whoever sorts me out with some $$$ for their trouble as well.

newbie question - how do you go about organising your tracks when setting up your cd bag, as in would you only burn one track per disc then lable it ? and if you have several different remixes of the same track would you burn all to one disc ?

Finally picked up some Pioneer 500S last night off of eBay to complete a budget set up with the Behringer BCD2000, I cannot wait to mix manually, using a laptop was rubbish.

Oh, and I've just been burning my CDs with the EP of whatever track I'm burning.

think about what you want to mix together, and then obviously put things on opposite cds. I normally put around 6-10 tracks on a cd then label it "Feb 1, Feb 2 etc" then write the tracks on a piece of paper and put it with the cd in cd wallet.

The missus just got this setup, I haven't been able to get away from it Laughing out loud anyone else on here use Serato? when I get enough cash I think I will get exactly the same, but for now I am still enjoying my controller and VDJ pro.

If you're using Serato do you not need the pitch control on the actual decks, if you do use them then why have the decks set up like that surely its really awkward. I really want to start using vinyl instead of a controller, so expensive though.

You still have to use the pitch control, don't loads of people have there decks like that? Puzzled

Anyway, came in here to ask - is anyone selling any technics 1200's or 1210's? I swear there used to be a few people selling DJ stuff on here fairly regularly.

Having your turntables turned 90 degrees like that came from turntablist/scratch DJs who found they'd have less chance of accidentally turning the power switch or knocking the needle whilst rubbing the bottom left corner of the platter.

This new piece of equipment is nuts, it's gonna get to the point that one day 99% of DJs won't be able to resist the crazy shit the technology lets you do and clubs will stop keeping decks & CDJs as standard:
