you have burnt them as data. burn as audio, as not all decks recognise data.

I play out a fair bit here in Ireland, maybe three times a month on average…done all the major festivals etc
Got my own radio show too on the regional station I work fulltime for, got about 17,000 people tuned in every Saturday night according to the ratings which I guess is nice of'em, play mostly techno & a bit of housey gear

Recently started uploading my radio shows, could throw up the links here if they'd be of interest to anyone…think I stuck a few mixes up way back ages ago

play one song through the speakers and one through one headphone (make sure it ain't too loud in the headphones).
try not using the same records since you'll make it harder to distinguish between the two?

what type of music are you playing?
the easiest music to mix is probably house or something with else with a 4/4 beat. boom tsh boom tsh boom tsh boom tsh.

remember to find the first kick beat(the boom or thud sound)
match this first kick beat with the first kick beat of another tune.
start counting beats, if you list to a track you find that sequences usually change after 8, 16, 32 and 64 beats. Usually best to drop in the record you are cueing up on one of these beats.

don't give up, once you get the hang of it (and you will) it'll be great!

*if you insist on playing the same record then
-set the pitch +1 on the tune playing through the speakers.
-set the pitch to 0 on the one in the headphones.
now you know that you need to make the record you are cueing up in the headphones faster. now you can start gettin used to using the manual pitch bend to match records.

hope that helps and isn't patronising, I'm not too sure how much you know already but hopefully this helps.

just realised this was from a over months ago. you've probably clocked it or given up already!!

totally makes sense, practise practise practise, soon you'll have beatmatchin down.

after that you'll be learning when to bring in tunes, blending vs chopping, pitch harmony, mashups, live sampling… etc.

anybody know if they are going to bring out vinyl and mp3 turntables?
or can you get vinyl turntables which are compatible with serato?

I really need to look into this E-DJ stuff out there.

just found a serato tutorial online… didn't know the setup was like that! Jawdropping!

so can you easily switch between serato vinyl and real vinyl during a set?

Right, i'm thinking of saving up to get my first set of CDJ's. As i'm only a beginner in my eyes I don't wanna spend loads of money on pioneer 1000s so was thinking of maybe getting some 100s, 200s or 400s. Is ebay the best place to look or has anyone got some decent/cheapish websites that sell second hand stock?

You may get lucky in gumtree, loot or in your local newspaper. Then if you are local you go down check the gear out and save money on postage.
Check forums too.

Otherwise ebay.

He was using a mac with ableton, with a khaos (i think) synthesiser, pioneers efx 1000 and an allen heath xone 400 i think it was or 40. Really good to watch, just a shame he doesnt use the conventional 1000mk3's. He didnt use a pair of headphones once.

On a side not as im poor ive just purchased the vestax cdx05's to go withmy djm300. Anyone selling any 800 or 1000's?
