yeah, they only invented it likeTrue, but it never broke out of Chicago/Detroit/NY, probably because it was primarily regarded as black/gay music; wheras in Europe it was embraced and rapidly exploded into acid house, which is where modern 'dance culture' as we know it really comes from.
