Something very strange about that. When I sell stuff on eBay my paypal email address is filled in automatically based on the last listing (I've just tried listing something to double check that)

anything dodgy here guys…
had a best offer accepted for a pair of trainers.
sent the payment
payment was unclaimed for about a day

seller is http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/xxx/ 2520 feedback (99.5%)

i then receive these two messages

HI: I THINK I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE . PLEASE CANCEL THE FIRST PAYMENT. THE CORRECT PAYPAL ADDRESS IS: xxx@GMAIL.COM… NOT xxxy@GMAIL.COM… I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS MISTAKE… (NOTICE THE PLURAL FORM ON THE"SHOES".. IT SHOULD BE SINGULAR. PLEASE CANCEL THE FIRST ONE AND RESEND THE PAYMENT. I WILL SHIP OUT AND MARK A LOW VALUE ASAP.THANKS.

and

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I AM A TRUSTED EBAYER AND NOT TRYING TO SCAM YOU. PLEASE CHECK THE FEEDBACK. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING MY MISTAKE.

if i send money through paypal, i cant mark it as an ebay transaction becuase it forwards me to the ebay checkout, which will then only allow me the send to the original email address

anything seemingly fishy here?

he sent me the message through ebay from the account that I just won the auction from…

perhaps he has several PP accounts which he uses? and can only use certain ones to draw money from etc?

shall i ask him to request payment through the ebay invoice thing, that is linked to the appropriate PP account?

Yeah, that could explain him entering it wrong

I think if you cancel the first payment he'll be able to resend the invoice with the correct email

he wont be able to change the paypal payment email details with a new invoice, explain to him you want the item, want to keep everything within the ebay checkout, ask him to cancel the auction and relist

Hi guys,

Sold some jeans on ebay last week and the buyer has made a paypal claim sying that they have been shortened. They are shorter than the 34 length on the label due to shrinkage when washed (about 32 now) but they haven't been 'altered' and they didn't ask anything about the length during the auction. There was also nothing on the auction saying how long the jeans were and no photo of the label etc but i did say they had been washed.

Has anyone been through a paypal claim as a seller? How long does it usually take to sort out and what info should I try to provide?

Thanks for any advice
