Sold a NEW belt on ebay and the buyer is trying to say it's used because I dont want to refund him. The item wasnt used and he's trying to say it was scratched and that! What you reckon I should do? Dont want to refund him and the belt to come back and be scratched or something haha

would I get charged the final value fee if the winner of my auction doesn't pay via the auction's invoice but just paypals me the money directly instead?

flyman - I don't think you'll get the shitty ebay charges, but you'll have to cancel the items transaction which will open up a case with the winner, they will then have to accept the cancelation. It'll give you options and if you say the item is damaged or one of the ones that mean the item is void then it should be fine!

You get charged the final value fee as soon as the auction ends. How they pay is irrelevant

I only got charged the listing fee for mine, I told ebay the transaction was cancelled due to them being out of stock and the buyer then gave me cash in hand.

No you didn't only get charged the listing fee. You got charged the final value fee but went through the cancellation process and had it cancelled. But the buyer has to agree to do that

I got charged 40p for listing it with a BIN, the winner offered me cash in hand, he agreed to the cancellation as I mention before and my ebay invoice from that month was 40p?
