best way for seller to win an item not described cases?
also, if buyer wins do they get their postage back?
i'd rather lose the £17(+£6 postage) than let the buyer send the item back (which would cost him £6 and I wouldn't refund orig posage so he would shell out £12 to get £17 back?

he gets his original postage cost back but not the postage cost to send it back, so will get the amount he originally paid back, so youll both be at a £6 loss on postage. Pretty improbably for seller to win a not described case now

sick of people with buyers remorse/making up non-existent faults to get their money back or cheaper deal

If they mention getting a partial refund, you can bring that up in a complaint case and possibly close the case that way, have done that before, but again, its rare that youll win, annoying but just be glad its only a score this time I geuss

Bought something from a retailer using Paypal. I returned it after 11 days for a refund as the item didn't fit. I didn't realise that the retailer states on their website that you only have 7 days for refunds. They're offering credit which I don't really want.
Is there any way I can raise a dispute on Paypal to get this payment back? I obviously can't claim non-receipt, and the retailer will be in possession of my returns form, which states that the item didn't fit, so 'item not as described' is also out.
I can't believe they won't just give me my dough back over the sake of a few days.

You can raise a dispute for the item not fitting, it's one of the subcategory boxes you can tick that fall under "Materially different". Select "Different model, version or size", hovering over it, it does say "Shoes too small to wear" as one of the examples.

^Thanks, will try that as a last resort if they really won't budge.
Edit:
Is that in relation to eBay sales Rira?
Sorry, didn't make it clear, but this was a non-eBay Paypal sale.
The only options I'm getting to open a dispute with are:
1/ I haven't received my item.
2/ I received my item, but it is significantly not as described. For example:
•The item was damaged or defective.
•The box was empty.
•The order was incomplete.
Do I need to call them for something like this?

It can relate to PayPal purchases as well.
Select option 2 and follow the onscreen instructions, you'll come to a screen that will ask you for the exact details, within that screen select what I highlighted above.

Well ebay decided in buyer favour 7 mins after he escalated case. Would have taken longer than that to read all the posts so I suspect the decision was a computer generated one.
Just sit back and wait for inevitable neg I guess…

Sold a blazer to some guy on ebay and he claimed that it generally wasn't as described, which was a nonsense, but whatever. Anyway, he raised a case and implied that unless there was an immediate refund then I'd get negative feedback. Refunded him. Now he won't return the item. Ebay even issued him with a prepaid label. Ignoring my messages and can't reach him on the phone, so all in all a bit annoying.

you've got his address?
go round to his house.
why you so scared of a negative?
it's your own fault. seem thick.

Why would you refund a scammer when you are in the right? You have caused this yourself. Leave him 'thief' feedback then.
26 Feb 2014 11:32
If I leave that feedback he will be able to get it removed without bother and, even if he doesn't have it removed, it will show up as positive regardless as he was the buyer.
Can't go round his house either as he lives at the other end of the country.

yeah, your way is best. giving him the money back and let him keep the item. that'll show him.

It is a pretty rubbish situation though whereby a buyer can receive an item, decide that they don't like it and then hold the seller hostage with the threat of negative feedback.
Yes, I know that I should have refused to refund the money until I received the item back and just accepted the negative feedback, but it's not a brilliant situation for sellers to be in, and is the main reason that I try to sell stuff on forums rather than ebay.

Call paypal / ebay. Same goes for lots of these situations as a seller, they're actually fairly helpful.

Ebay is so shit now. Never ever use it anymore.

why do people buy it now and then not pay? I can maybe understand putting in a bid on the off chance and then being surprised you win….. but buy it now?

should have 'immediate payment required' activated/box ticked.
