some idiot bought some shoes off me, he asked for exact measurements, very specific, so I gave him them. He got the shoes and was happy, then he enquired about another pair of trainers i was selling….

He copied and pasted the question he asked about the shoes in terms of measurements which didn't really apply to the trainers and the shapes are different, so I just measure them interpreting his question best I could.

He gets them and says my measurements are 0.5cm out or something and wants a full refund. I have a no refund policy. I've told him to open a dispute because I can't be arsed with this over a few mm's.

Who will win?

If your measurements were wrong, then I think he's more likely to win.

its like people from outer space sometimes with how stuff fits / measurements…

i lay tape measures across the items on my pics and still get people asking about measurements! probably hoping i make a typo so they can put a claim in.

Won my case, again and the 100% feedback rating is still intact.

People are stupid or conmen on eBay.

If you've raised a claim with PayPal (from a dispute) and the seller responds to this claim within the 10 day period, PayPal requests that you to return the item. When you do you have to provide PayPal with a tracking number to prove that it's been returned. If the seller hasn't responded to the claim within the 10 day period then the claim is won in your favour, you receive a full refund and get to keep the item. However, the latter isn't applicable as you have already returned it.

If you haven't escalated a dispute to a claim I'd do it now, and that should get his attention. If it doesn't, you'll still get your refund.

he agreed to the return first message i sent so didnt open a dispute
didnt think people would bother to do this over about £30, its probably too late, but if i open a dispute theres no way round the fact its already returned right

As long as you sent it tracked and tracking shows it's been delivered to his address (presumably his return address is the same as listed on his eBay/PayPal account), you can still submit it retrospectively within the claim to show that it has been returned and he's withholding from refunding you.

So yes it's still worth raising a dispute, then escalating to a claim as soon as you can.

Is there any prepaid card you can use on paypal in the UK?
Ive heard of Bread card, Western Union in WHS, but all of them need detail, or with the later need to ring up and give you details.
Find this hilarious, as one reason it talks about on packaging getting the card, is no credit checks. Why they need your details then?!

Paypal are supposed to do the access card. But i registered years ago, they have never sent one, after applying multiple times. Apparently this effects credit rating too though?!

Any other prepaid cards around where DONT need to register all your details?

I recently sent a t-shirt to some one in france, I sent it via airsure small parcel and have proof of postage (receipt and tracking number).

The other day the buyer opened a claim saying he hadn't received the item - his comment 'it's been 3 weeks and i haven't received box logo t-shirt'.

However I just checked on RM website with the tracking number and it says a delivery attempt was made on 31st march (I sent it on the 25th March). It says if the buyer doesn't collect it or re-arrange delivery, then it will be returned to the sender. Only issue is I didn't put a return address on the package.

Scam? Am I fucked? Who will ebay favour in this situation?

Thanks

Any reason not to send someone an invoice for an ebay item direct through paypal (ie avoiding ebay fees by saying we agreed to cancel the sale)? Seems like selling trainers attracts the dodgiest buyers, always assume they are trying something on

Do Paypal use a different conversion rate for foreign currency than the bank or card company? Statement shows a fairly large difference to what I was expecting the amount to be when paying for something in Euros…

Paypal likes to skim some cash when you do currency conversions, charge about 4 or 6% on top Puzzled
