Anybody able to personally recommend their "higher-end" barbers or hairdressers in Edinburgh? Not found anywhere decent since moving from Manchester a couple of months ago.

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Try Ishi in Marchmont. They've just opened a branch on Hanover Street too.

They have 40% off in January according to their Facebook page..

Been trying for four years to find a good hairdresser in Edinburgh, if you find one, reply here. I've got a list of names of people to avoid if your interested?

Had someone good for two cuts, they them went on maternity leave and haven't been seen for 16 months.

Will have a look at Ishi.

p.s need a new name.

Stopped by Ruffians (Queensferry Street?) when passing by at the start of December. Mediocre haircut, horrendously overpriced.

Although have been recommended Soul Barber Room through in Glasgow by a couple of people. Will be trying to get a cut there the next time I visit the city.

Cheers for the advice so far, will bear Ishi in mind

Ruffians is quite nice but expensive, just won some awards I think.

Best place is probably Benjamin's barbers down Stockbridge which just opened. He used to work in boom barbers and the new salon looks ace.

There's a new place on Broughton Street called Arthaus. Looks kind of cool (but maybe a bit wanky). I remember thinking the prices seemed expensive when I walked past but can't remember how much it was.

Went to Benjamin's Barber Shop at the weekend. Great cut at a good price. Will be going back.
