and you said yes to that? and signed it? the time to ask for more was in the negotiation at the promotion meeting, its too late now really, lesson learned. with no promotion you can expect a general wage increase on inflation each year and thats that.

no as i said
"i need to wait till i get a written offer of the promotion before i can do anything."

i will speak to my HR rep before i take things further. ive got a feeling the last thing my boss wants to do is be dragged through a tribunal, i might be in dreamland but maybe they may come back with a better price.
like i said i cant live off the money they are offering, so im not gunna lose anything. my boss is a retard who doesnt care about her job, is waiting to be made redundant.

ok so you can still negotiate, there is no tribunal required here nothing illegal or unfair is going on, you simple say i want x salary and say why example i've been here a year more than the other guy so i need £30 a month more tc. They will say yes or no. Asking for more if they don't want to give it means you have to back down and with probably be negatively thought of. if you can't live of the salary then i guess you have to ask for more but for 30 per month spend less.

OR

If you want my honest opinion from the data you gave above, basically you have been passed over once before on a promotion, then it took much longer than normal to get the offer of promotion, someone else has been promoted to your level faster than you and they have offered you a shit pay increase with no hope of further promotion, you are not exactly on their "fast track" (irrespective of your ability) so asking for more money seems nuts to me.

Not being harsh but it looks like changing company would be best for your career in the long run as this company just sounds shit.

ok cheers for the advice obviously.

promotions are "dead mand shoes" so its all down to who leaves, thats the reason why its taken 9 months. and 3 people left very closely and thats why there are now two positions available. god knows what happened to the other position. our company just sent an email today saying their will be 80 redundances from the company, so i think they will just delete this position instead of promoting someone and having to make someone else redundant.
i have been fast tracked, tonight i am supervising a 42 year old who earns 48k a year.
they say they cant offer me more as it would be leap frogging other peoples wages…

i did get offered a job in qatar 4 or so months ago. was 31k tax free, 5* accomadation and all that. turned it down as i currently earn more and didnt wanna break up with the gf or really live away from london. ive just split up with my gf and this has happened at work, if i was offered the job again tomorrow, i would seriously consider….

with redundancies coming asking for cash is a crazy idea. you will be deleted if there are multiple people at the same position / job skill.

Those jobs though seem more suited to a 30 year old, with lots of experience… Do you have anything for a 25 year old stuck in fashion admin?

Why dont you try TipTopJob - they are not as big as the likes of monster and totaljobs but seem a bit better.

anyone here do project management? based on the manager of my project, it looks like nice work and I reckon I could get into it pretty easily once ive done this job for a while.

anyone had much experience of MS Project and/or Prince2. are they easy to learn?
