its only worth going to uni if u are motivated to get a first, if u go thinking "ill get a 2-1" your'll prob come out with a desmond tutu. if u go in with a "2-1" attitude and multiply it by 5 nights a week heavy drinking/drugs and loose women your'll prob get a third.

i regret not going to a uni out of london (my hometown) becuase i feel i missed out on a lot, but at the same time i went to a specific film skool and done a real specialised subject. i now 18months out of uni have a real good job, earning nearly 3 times the average "broadcast graduate starting wage".

if i was u, id train to be a pilot. bare fanny and $$$$$$$$$$$$$

But do something sensible, that will help you get a job, not something daft like "Medieval French Literature"

yea, Pilot training is like 75k, lose your license due to health and your going to have difficulty paying it back (assuming you borrow it). It would be good to have a degree so you can still get a decent job.
Also its a great experiance and i reckon you would regret not going

Im in the same situation so know what your thinking

Yeah, well im on my PPL now and I have had 3 huge breaks due to exams at school. I only have 10 flying hours and I really, really loved it. But now those hours have gone to pot, Im having a lesson friday and saturday it will be my first in 6 months, knocked my motivation to rock bottom. I know it costs around 60-70k and I would have to borrow it.

Homer are you a really clever guy or? Im pretty average academically and I just feel like all the people that are pilots are really clever even though you don't need any special A levels..

Im particularly keane to go to UNI to meet new people, because seriously if i carried on with the same people im around now id probably put a knife to my throat. How hard did you guys work at you A levels? im falling off abit..

As someone who travels by plane most weeks, please don't become a pilot.

You dont have to be a genius. As long as you pass the numerical + aptitude tests you will be fine. Studying physics and maths would help. I only did Physics Alevel and GCSE maths.
