am thinking along the lines of:

"Hate being wrong…."
"Try to hard to please everyone….." (No Homo)
"I used to be somewhat nervous giving presentations but I realized it was all about preparation, so long as I do that right, the nerves are manageable

and maybe a bonus one of

"I'm also a massive lightweight"

as its for a media job, might be able to get away with a bit of humour

Ive got an interview this week,

The question i usually stumble on is when they ask about dealing with difficult people or conflict in a team environment. I usually cant think of something and make up some bull shit story. Was the "ideal" way to act do you think ?

Take charge, re-delegate their position which makes them feel they are special / they have "won" promise they can take charge if they do well etc.

I had this very badly with a salesman I had employed through a company transfer, turned out to be a right twat even though I had saved him from redundancy. He was a proper lazy twat and thought he could sail through on gifted business as he had previously done through bullying and intimidation of his fellow peers. It got a bit heated in the end as I tried empowerment, giving him responsibility but he just turned out to be an out and out cunt.

In the end I fucking embarrassed him by employing a shit hot part time worker that outsold them all. And sacked the little fucker for stealing in the end.

But that's no help at all, you should say that you would observe the situation whilst logging details of the problem, possibly with HR if it's a big company. Say that you would try to engage the problematic employee's (inc all involved) and try to establish some kind of empowerment, personal project for them or come up with some kind of bonding exercise depending on the problem. Do highlight to them that you would keep a detailed log of the circumstances.

If they hit you with what if it doesn't work and escalate's, just tell them you would consult HR for their guidance. That's what they're employed for.

Failing that just fucking find a way to sack the little shits if they continue to play up. Laughing out loud

s'all about communication - active listening, and creating a non-confrontational platform that enables team members to voice concerns and iron out problems together. mediating, focusing discussion on positive resolutions, blah, blah, blah - imo that's the kind of shit they want to hear.

Got an interview on Thursday, but the salary guide isn't specified on the job description, so I'm going to ask at the interview.

What im worried about is if they ask what salary do I feel is suitable for this position. Should i aim high?

iIs called the invisible window, too low and you will get mugged off, too high and you look greedy and you have lost the job.

Best thing to do is check on monster or something for the area you work in for approximate salaries and then add +10%

Right, looking towards my future and thinking about training to become a plumber/electrician. Where are the best places to look for training roles/apprenticeships? Has anyone done one?

is it through an agency? If so then ask them.

If not then it's a tricky one as some will say don't mention it on the first interview, but I figure don't waste time, try and work out what you want, what it's worth in the marketplace and then probably aim to discuss this towards the end of the interview. If they don't want to discuss don't push it on them but don't waste your time either. I have heard of people going through two interviews without the employers wanting to discuss money, only to be offered the job for peanuts.

If they do ask you give them a salary band, not a single figure.

It may also depend on what you are earning now, your experience and if these are not very much then you need to be realistic when banding your salary requirements. It is often wise to get your foot in if the career prospects are good long term and there is scope to increase your salary in annual reviews etc.

If you are experienced in the key role and you can demonstrate your background in the subject(s) then that is the only time to aim high

It's a tricky one.

I would rather leave it to you as you know the market and what you have in mind to pay.
I would also rather not appear to under or over value myself against other applicants.

if you sell it in a "I dont do bullshit here is my honest answer" it can work for you.
