A couple of lads I know put me onto it, guys who know their stuff. Not purchased anything from Overlord yet but a friend is going to start stocking it on his site soon. I'll probably order through them when they do.

Does anyone know 19th Century BD shirts well?

I have one other EG shirt, a work shirt which I understood to be a roomier style. It's a medium which is fine but on the small side, so I thought I'd be a large in the 19th Century for sure.

Nonetheless, I ordered a medium and a large and while I think the large probably is my size, it's very generous in the body and very long also. Which, in this chintzy fabric, makes it look too much like a nightdress, more than the photo shows it probably. Allow the double chin, I was stood weirdly:

Is it a terrible idea to have it taken in slightly at the sides and a bit taken off the length? I know it's a risk but I've been after the right floral EG shirt for ages. Otherwise I'll have to back it.

Maybe I've talked myself into it but I think it'll look mint with denim and a grey sweatshirt with a parka or whatever.

Like how the Japanese guys wear it.

I have three and would normally be a large and all my 19th c shirts are mediums, for the reason you said. Im 6,2 if it helps.

They are a little tight on the shoulders but I find they are too bulky in a large. Needles does a similar one which is like a tent in all sizes.

Don't fuck about with getting it tailored whatever you do. Choose a size or none.

I would keep the medium if the sleeves weren’t so fucking short

Thanks for the pearls of wisdom! I think I’m gonna keep the large and maybe have it taken in later on. I can’t resist it.

Do you know a good place for alterations central? Scott at Re Tailoring Barbican is alright but I'm always on the look out.
