Really nice photos Rira. Always well lit.

Funnily enough, got a similar photo from a trip I took to Berlin

Not a pro, but if they fit I imagine the only problem is they won't have the built in motor that allows you to auto focus???

I heard that a lot of the film glass is far, far better than, at least, the cheaper DSLR glass.

the clouds and stuff just made me take a pic

That's so nice. If that'd had been on an SLR and in RAW format you could turn out an absolute mindblower in something like Photomatix.

There's no problem using older lenses you just mmight not get all the functions you get with a Digital lens, metering might not work and some won't autofocus. Certainly won't do any harm.
The sensor being smaller than 35mm film means the actual focal length will be slightly different (I think with the 400d it's 1.6x) so a 50mm lens will actually be 80mm (if that makes sense?).

cheers guys, the motor for the lens works fine, didn't check the photo on the computer to see if the autofocus had actually worked properly, but I'll have a proper play with them this weekend

A 35mm f1.4 L / Canon 350D. It's a very nice lens indeed!

Pricey I imagine? I've got a 400D, and getting into HDR at the moment. Kind of caught between portrait and landscape.

You're NY right? Got a great city to shoot in.
