Wasn't my finger, some wierd guy had it on his finger in Placa Reial whilst we were waiting for a table at a restraunt, said he had found it that morning and rescued it from a cat :S not too sure what the hole on its chest is?

I got a 6 megapixal sony camera that cost me about £200 6 months ago. Whats the difference from this, to a 6megapixal SLR camera?

Obviously I have no clue, and want educating?

All these pictures look class, mine look pootang

basically the difference between a compact camera and an SLR is the lens - no matter how many megapixels you have on a compact camera, it just can't compete with the quality of image you'll get from the lens on an SLR, which can allow more light in

you can still get good pics out of a 6 megapixel compact though - read up on a few photography basics on things like how to position yourself in relation to the sun for best results etc. the quality of the light affects the pictures too - ie on a dull overcast day you won't be able to take great-looking pics with a compact

try and think about the composition too - what do you want in the shot, what would look better left out of the shot, how can you "frame" things within the shot etc the beauty of digital is you can keep snapping away, adjusting things as you go along, and delete what you don't like

these were taken with a 7 megapixel compact

Thanks for the compliments, I couldn't really go wrong with some pretty good lighting and a stage full of Austrian guys in nothing but sunnies and shorts.

Going to Poland at the start of August so hopefully I'll get some good photos there. Not mad keen on taking a 350D backpacking so I'll have to dig out the Olympus OM10 out the attic and hope I get some good ones.
