Roller derby is pretty much exclusively lesbian. Few girls I work with play for the Birmingham Blitzdames, all gay as you like. One had an article published in a roller derby magazine titled - How roller derby saved my life and they appeared on embarrassing bodies live.

Friend of mine plays on the derby team so I was asked to do some pictures as they know I have a "big camera", it is actually technically challenging so getting clear in focus pictures is difficult and needs expensive gear, but anyone was allowed to take pictures.

It is actually good fun to watch, does go on a bit at a hour per game with time outs on top!

Some advice please, where's the best place to pick up a Canon 5d in the UK? Also, is the MkII that much inferior to the new MkIII?

Thanks.

Amazon and Wex Photographic are usually the cheapest.

Wherever you end up buying from, make it's not a "grey import" you're buying (ie sourced outside the UK) as there can be warranty issues further down the line.

edit: this article might answer your other question.

Thanks, Andy. I'll end up taking it back to Aus, so just trying to see if it's worth buying from the UK and saving VAT or just ordering locally.

Also, my bank balance says thanks for the link!

lens are more important than the camera, but the Mkii is a great camera for the money, although I am a nikon man.

If you do buy it here make sure you don't take the packaging back to Oz, or you might be unlucky enough to get charged duty on it.

I'm looking to buy a decent point and shoot digital camera for less than £150, nothing fancy. Can anyone recommend a better deal than this?

The Canon S100 in my opinion is the best point and shoot camera. You can probably get it at under £150 second-hand. You won't have to change it when you start feeling confident shooting with manual settings.

Waiting for the decent wether tomorrow to get some classic landscape shots in central london on B&W film. Sure to be an educational experience. Sad

Picked up the Nikon F5 for £149.99 which is nuts, also a 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.4 prime on ebay for under £150 each.

All bargains.

I was just looking at the s100 actually. It's between that and the Lumix TZ30. I'm trying to find a good deal.
