dont understand how that can work,would have to be a pretty big security hole in facebook to allow you to get hold of their cookies/IP.

Maybe a year ago when applications were on the main page you could have done it by doing something clever (writing an application and checking who was accessing it), but now that applications are all stuck behind a tab that noone clicks it doesnt sound possible. Youd surely only see (at best) the people who viewed your applications/boxes tab, no?

i haven't had fcebook chat up for a couple of weeks now, its ruining my life (no candidate)

i used to open it on a friday and saturday night and get told by all various mates what was gwaning and i could decide what to do with myself, now there is non of that and i can't find my phone.

Mine's working again now, but it was broken over the weekend.

I just assume it's down to how unbelievably shit the site is. Surprised it hasn't been binned years ago. Can't seem to do anything right for longer than a few days.

As a general rule it's not a good idea to rely on an online company to host stuff that you haven't got a copy of - be that Facebook, Flickr or whoever. The shutting down of GeoCities by Yahoo shows how risky it can be.

facebook seems fine now. when you log into f'book abroad it asks for your birthdate to double check its you. bit of a crappy security feature really.
