Same, went to Sainsburys and Lidl yesterday and both ransacked. No meat, eggs, pasta, bog roll etc. Fucking morons clearing the shelves.

So Italy is on full lockdown - are people allowed to go out and do a food shop? How are they controlling that?

My missus' family are on the edge of Milan. They're allowed to walk around the local area.

If you drive, you'll be stopped by police - to work out why you're outside. They're policing local neighbourhoods. E.g. if you leave their area, and are caught - residency card would be checked.

Supermarkets are open. Local bread shops etc. open. Shops are policing it themselves. In their local small supermarket it's 6-8 people at a time with 2-3m between people queuing. Shops are fully stocked, given everyone panicked bought before so now supply chains are back.

Not sure how this'd work in London, but in my local area (NE) it's busy - and loads of people seem to be completely unaware/ignorant to the matter, coughing/spluttering their way through life. Lock down on its' way for sure?

Interesting, thanks^ queues must be mental then?

Our local supermarkets have been rammo at 6-7am apparently so unless you're there in the morning you'll miss out on a lot of basics. Haven't seen any meat and certain veg on shelves for about 5 days Laughing out loud Smaller local veg shops have been decent, though. Haven't tried the butcher's for meat yet.

Lockdown certainly feels imminent.

I live in the city, queues are long but not crazy.
You're advised, and it's wise for both you and the people working there, to go once and buy as much as you can in order to avoid going there every two days.
Pretty much everyone has a car, even in the cities, so that's not an issue.
I went on Sunday and won't need to go until mid next week I reckon.

Problem is that there's still too many people around, many take the opportunity to go food shopping as a chance to leave the house and go several times a week, many take the dog out every 15mins, many go jogging, which is allowed if done alone, but it wasn't expected that everyone would become a runner as it's happening…

Now the government is using aggregate, at least that's what they said, mobile GPS data to monitor how many people move daily and how much they move

I'm so fucking done with people acting like it's the end of the world. Got friends and some family who are flapping because they think that them and their kids are about to fall over and die from Covid.

Fucks sake.

Confirmed cases now 200,000 worldwide. Which is 0.0026% of the world's population.

Deaths now 8000. Which is 0.0001% of the world's population.

Agreed we should self-isolate and take precautions, but no need to shit our pants just yet

Advice worth taking as you won't have any loo roll to clean it up.

Office split into 2 teams red/blue, split the week between home working/office.
One of each role, never meet.
Mega Sainsbury’s here is like East Berlin.

Don’t like statistics as they can be interpreted in so many ways… I Tend to look forward towards the giant morgue just erected in Westminster and the Preparation for Disaster’ emails floating around work.

Find it interesting watching the US wake up too it like we did a few weeks before. How the shops are emptying and the heresay is rife. Gun shops sold out.
Think the community spirit that’s popping up is a positive in this horrible time, something that’s lacking.
Fair few oaps in my street, so offered help etc.
