As a parent I care more about the social impact on older generations over any financial ramifications. All people matter more than economics. It's very easy to get carried away with prioritising yourself first and letting your ego take over.

What is the negative impact on society if everyone over the age of 65 dropped dead tomorrow? Apart from the emotional impact of losing loved ones, is there only upside? They're asset rich (most own their own homes, which would be freed up/passed to next generation), don't add much to the economy (in terms of productivity or taxes), and are the largest strain on the NHS (I'm guessing here).

What would be the downside? Appreciate I have old relatives that I wouldn't want to die, but just looking at this from a thought experiment point of view.

No, I'm not a psychopath.

I'm hoping this thing offs my parents

Don’t really get the hate for the comment.

He’s not asking for it to happen, just asking opinions and thoughts if it were to.
Have to say it makes sense, to me at least, not that I’d want it to happen.

It would be rather negative right across the board if life expectancy was to suddenly reduce to 65!

I know house prices are a prob for 1st time buyers but it's not exactly 1941.

It most definitely would, Im sure that was the catalyst behind boris' first herd immunity plan.

Let the older people die, we don't have to pay on their state pensions, theyre less of a burden on the NHS, many claim benefits or have care allowances etc, frees up money for the economy.

But to think like that or think well it would get me on the house ladder makes you a cvnt!
