I gotta venture to the shops tomorrow. Pretty sure I am going to turn some heads in a face mask and gloves.

This is actually a good idea. Only gonna work if the masses use it, though.

I was a call with a client who stocks their products with Ocado. The waiting page had 34,000 people queuing with an estimated time of 2hrs. Eek

Sanderstead Waitrose today, 2 metres apart queue, no more than 45 in store, trolleys cleaned as they come out, NHS can queue jump, max of 3 of any item, reasonably stocked, only thing they were short on was pasta and chicken and a few other bits. Staff well happy.

Long may it continue…felt like it was supermarket sweep once inside.

Second week WFH here in Texas - 5 week old twins and a 2 year old that’s naked from the waist down as we are potty training him. My county has a ‘shelter in place’ order in effect but as an essential worker I can move fairly freely although we don’t go anywhere other than on a daily family walk around the neighbourhood - it’s actually not too bad for us as the twins would have drastically altered our lives this year anyway!

Went to local Tesco at 6:30am. Was pretty busy for that time of the morning. Most stuff was available, eggs and bread were the only things not there.

I went in full mask and gloves. Amazed me the staff didn’t have masks on. Some didn’t even have gloves on. Also loads of old people wandering around looking like everything was normal.

I'm about the only white person in Australia wearing a mask I think.

don't get the eggs thing, you can't really freeze em, boiled/fried first maybe.

I'm still going to work, ghost-town, got a whole bus to myself this morning. I'll keep going until we go full lockdown, I get paid by the hour and our bailout is shit compared to yours. Basically they doubled the dole for anyone claiming it now. So a lot of part timers will actually get a pay rise by sitting on their ass. Double dole would barely cover my rent though so I'm still working as long as I can. Our government is so fucking stupid..

Laughing out loud calls anyone slightly to the left a "commie fag" but moans about the lack of social security.

What's the deal with masks? Most things I've read have said they're essential for close contact workers (social care, hospital, etc), but make little difference for everyone else.

I dunno if they work really but made me feel more comfortable being in there. I got them for work when we are cutting stone so figured might as well use one.

It's our money (ie all the fucking taxes I've paid in my life) and if the govt decides to shut down the economy I want compensation. No one here is losing their job because of any other reason than the decision of the govt to close down the nation. Compensation, not welfare.
