Deaths per year are still about average compared with the last 5-7 years.

There is no pandemic.

Another thing, convenient that there is a new strain only a week or so after the first vaccines have rolled out…

Yeah that table was a projection created in 2019 and based on 2018s statistics.

But he’ll have an excuse for it so bang your head away.

Anyone else at the point where you don't 100% believe what's in the mainstream media or what the conspiracy theorist are saying about this whole thing? Actually doing my head in a bit. Think I need to step away from internet

I am tier 4 and can play golf still with a complete stranger if I want Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud (so long as it's 2 ball which is what I play anyway).

They are open on Christmas Day now in light of the governments news.

This new strain has come along conveniently just in time for when no deal brexit hits and the shit really hits the fan with supply chains etc. I remember reading that Britain is only 4 missed meals away from mass riots etc. The gov will easily be able to blame the worst of the disruption on covid and will try and use that as an excuse for failing to get a deal.

did no one here even do GCSE biology? i am surprised a new variant hasn't come sooner.. in the UK we have had over 2 million confirmed cases (without mass testing during first wave). That is the virus replicating many billions of times within one country over this year. as with any biological process of division, genetic errors are introduced (no fudge dredd); some cause no change to function, others do… and here we are

a few of you could do yourselves a favour and read up on some basic virology/immunology. start following the science and take off your tinfoil hats. spreading misinformation from some facebook post from your aunt carol is seriously harmful

there will have to be calls for Boris to step down if he doesn't secure a deal with the EU. he will have achieved absolutely nothing in his time in office. political mist

Well said swede. this new strain was first spotted in September. Also our shitshow of a govt. could have asked for a Brexit extension due to covid which would have solved some immediate problems.

I don't think anyone is arguing that a new strain has come about. More the fact the government knew about this back in September and now using the narrative of "new variant" in order to lock down the country further as they know the majority of the general public don't listen to them anymore.

It has backfired already with other EU countries banning all travel by Brits so quickly.
