Without sounding like noble and being a grumpy old cunt who can't relate to the youth of today, I really can't part with £600-1000 for a weekend away in England where the weather is the decider on whether it's gunna be a good week.

Last time I went was 07. Set me back £600, I cain it harder now.
Unless prices for tickets, booze, Drugs, transport, tents, & food have gone down.
Take your own warm beer, you might be on to something there. Yum

to be fair a weekend at glastonbury (assuming your into festivals) for £600 is probably going to be more enjoyable than a weekend in the likes of magaluf (unless your 16) or a budget city break
and on the booze front its obviously better to at least have the option of taking drinks anywhere with you than the likes of reading wheres its like some mexico smuggling shit even for a little night time warmer flask of something

You are missing my point. 2007 was fucking awful. Mud bath where 1/2 the festival you couldn't get to without a snorkel. You can't sit down anywhere apart from your tent, you are constantly muddy/wet and it's just a miserable experience.
Been 5 times, 3 sunny amazing awesome times and 2 shitty never go again mud baths.

I totally get your point
I went in 2007, it was horrendous, i wanted to die at times and it wasnt until i got home that i tried to convince myself i had a good time. But like you ive been other times in the baking heat and its been amazing.
I just reackon its worth the risk because when its good its amazing but like you say when its bad its really bad (unless your one of those posh pricks whos away from mud and dad for the weekend and just jumps in the mud for 3 days)
anyway next years gonna be a scorcher, nailed on..
