Don't know if anyone is around Roman Road, but went to this place for an impromptu dinner - https://www.symposiumlondon.co.uk/

Had some nice fresh Burrata and then rabbit and pork which was great. Big wine list and the owner was really friendly. Also have a good deli counter and do coffee.

Always rated Rosa's thai. Got one right in heart of SOHO.

Rosa's is good. If you're after something a bit different I went to Kiln at the weekend. Tiny and only bar seating but if you arrive early it's great for drinks and plate after plate of really delicious thai street food (or whatever you want to call it). Curried aubergine was incredible, drinks are fairly priced.

Also had a second visit to the awfully named My Neighbours the Dumplings in Clapton. First time enjoyed it with just one other person, but this time there were four of us. It cost about £90 between us for pretty much the whole menu to share and beers and it was top drawer. Highly recommend it, but again, limited seating - had to wait in the bar for 10 minutes which isn't too bad for 7pm Saturday. Don't sleep on the crispy prawn wonton.

I went here - really liked it (sat outside as was a nice evening)
Had my introduction to 'we only take cards' which seems to be growing in popularity

Try Pink Simba, they do 4 types of wings, the simba wings are even better than regency.

Lardo in Hackney - average. Pizza has way too much sauce on and the base is too crispy. Good portion of burrata but didn't taste that fresh.

Couple places lately, some more obvious ones. I've been rinsing the Code App. If anyone works in hospitality and ever eats out in London it's a complete no brainer - £12 a year for some insane discounts at tons of restaurants on certain days/times (50% off food at Marksman Monday/Tuesday PM for example).

Bao in Fitzrovia is still absolute class. Don't skip dessert. Also went to a place called Mr Bao in Peckham recently (no relation) that was great, maybe not quite on the same level as Bao though.

The Marksman on Hackney Road is well worth a trip. They just got a michelin star but it is really reasonably priced considering. They're opening a spinoff place soon in South London just serving their savoury buns - they had a curried lamb one on the menu and it was godly.

Chick 'n' Sours (Haggerston branch). A bit bougie and lairy at the same time but the food was good. Got the set menu (£18pp) which let us try most of the menu. Some nice side dishes but was just too much food. Would definitely go back for a few drinks/wings and a side or two though.

Xi'an Biang biang Noodles is great for a chilled out place near Liverpool St/Spitalfields. Massive flat belt noodles with punchy oily szechuan sauces at reasonable prices.

X'ian Bang Bang is great for a casual meal. Sauce on the beef noodles is so addictive.
