circus. http://www.circus-london.co.uk/
honestly can say that its one of the best restaurants ive ever been to.
i took my folks after a recomendation from a friend. i thought it was gunna be cheesey and tACKY AS FUCK. turned up and was the most under dressed person in there. i was wearing tshirt/jeans, all the girls there were in 50's dresses/ball gowns etc. men in suits etc.
the food was very very good. black cod at £35, sea bass at £32 and steaks at £25. dim sum at £7-10.
the steak was one of the best steaks i have ever eaten, cooked to perfection.
the entertainment was not tacky or feel like you was in tgi fridays.
all the furniture was kartel too, which i dig.
proper awesome place. will deffo go back and if anyone is looking for a first date restaurant, go there.
some shitty iphone photos….

sams chop house - manchester http://www.samschophouse.co.uk/

was told to go here by friends, traditional english food. established in 1872 apparently.
had the black pudding & pork belly scampi to start which was small portion but tasty.. "famous" corn beef hash for main.
main was very good.
went on a monday night and we managed to get the last table, rammo in the main room.

chaophraya - manchester. http://www.chaophraya.co.uk/

probably the worst thai ive ever eaten.
everything about everything i ate was shit.
we got the £36 set menu, everything was rough as shit.
like eating at a £5 all you can eat mr woo's.
terrible terrible place.
heres a photo of the mains.
look at the filler in that dish. 1/4 of a mushroom???? inch sq's of everry other vegatable.
ive been to the one in liverpool and cant remember it being that shit. but id never go back.
we had some starter, a deep fried generic bird leg. no one could tell what bird it was, we decided on duck as it was basically fat on a bone.
asked the waiter, it was chicken. rough as shit.

Check out Lockhart restaurant if you get the chance. Finger-lickin temptatiousness from America's Deep South. They had an entire dexter cow on the grill when I went there last night. I ate the shrimps with grits, corn bread and collard greens and haven't eaten better this year, yet. Makes hype burger/hype noodle joints squeal like a pig.

Ain't been there but someone who knows the restaurant biz well says that Ollie Dabbous' new place, Barnyard, is just a Nathan Barley circle wank, not worth spazzing your hard earned on (no homo).

Of all the places in london to eat to take a girl thats from New York and you advise to take her out to stokey for a kebab Laughing out loud You never fail to amuse me with your special comments

I know Testi is a little more than that but its probably about 900 on a list of places to eat to take a girl to whos visting from overseas.
