Swiss Cottage branch has seating and booking is recommended, ask for the window tables if just two of you are going.

i must admit i found the whole idea a disgrace and so blackpool its unreal, but somehow they pull it off and the quality of the food is brilliant…. and im the biggest food snob going

ive not been in over two years but was decent back then, i keep getting emails with 25% off deals from them now, so not sure if its doing so well, the waiting list two years ago was a few months for a 9pm sitting.

Off for lunch with some mates before a wedding on Saturday afternoon. Wedding is in Stokey and we live east so would prefer to stay in the area (but happy to travel a little). We will be dressed for the wedding and it is the birthday of one of the girls that day so Dirty Burger/Chicken Shop is out. Any recommendations for something new, intersting and appropriate that way? Anyone been to Lyle's?

Atari Ya was dece, exactly what I was looking for. Went to the swiss cottage one accidentally thanks to citymapper and my terrible navigation only to find it wasn't open for an hour and had to get straight back on the tube. Thanks everyone.

In answer to my own question, we went to Hoi Polloi. Was very good for lunch (been for dinner before) and would recommend it in response to Snaye. Good feel to the place and good menu. Cocktails are interesting.

Lyle's is shut on a Saturday lunch but heard good things.

Not sure about the Corner Room since Nuno Mendes left. Been before when he was there and it was good. Might be worth trying to find a review. Interesting building. Also not a big fan of the Clove Club having been a couple of times. Overhyped.

I need a bit of help…

The missus and I are in london tomorrow and will be going for lunch, has to be somewhere between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly.

She doesn't like meat off the bone (no innuendo), so that rules out chicken wings and ribs etc. She also doesn't like mega spicy stuff, or fish…

So, should I just get a new bird, or is there somewhere in that area that would suit? Like a burger joint but with a little more choice than just burgers and ribs/wings.

I'm two minutes away from making her a packed lunch box. Help. Please.

Went Pitt Cue yesterday about a year late and had the mutton chop. Comes with a sausage from the same animal too. Was absolutely quality, sounds like what you're after. Might be worth investing in an extra side to share if you want to leave full to the seams. Bone marrow mash OP

I liked the idea of Pitt Cue, but wasn't sure if it would fit the bill because for some reason they decided to make the worst website in the land - which doesn't show you a menu.

from memory

pulled pork 11.50
featherblade steak 16.50
mutton chop 17.50

some steak thing to share 30.00

all come with one side

bone marrow mash
grilled broccoli almonds and shallots
green chilli slaw
gem something

or pulled pork bun was 9.50 i think. there were a few other things on it, dunno if this is helpful.

might as well work there.

That's a menu? You English are a strange breed.

I imagine she'd want a bit more choice but I'll run it past her anyway. Bone marrow mash sounds a bit wrong, but I'm strangely intrigued!

Thanks for that.
