Claridges for afternoon tea!
Definitely the best - no idea why you'd want a wanky contemporary take on something that's supposed to be traditional.

Much rather go out for Dinner, afternoon tea sounds like its just for birds anyway.

Actually, im safe, can wear a snapback too … (Tripadvisor last month)

“Afternoon Tea Dress Code”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 10 July 2010
My husband and I went to Claridges for afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We checked their website for dress code (smart casual) and dressed accordingly.

Afternoon tea was wonderful - we thoroughly enjoyed it. However, don't worry about being under-dressed! We were amazed to see several people in tee-shirts, not to mention at least 4 wearing baseball caps! What a shame that Claridges have allowed standards to drop - surely it's not a lot to ask of people to make an effort to at least appear presentable!

Afternoon tea is deffo for birds, but surely if you were going to take her out for dinner for her birthday you wouldn't be wearing trainers anyway?

Did Chiltern Firehouse at the weekend and honestly thought it was pretty decent. portions were far bigger than what i thought they would be.

service to begin with was a bit poor but otherwise all in a decent place…bill was too bad in comparison to similar eateries

need to book a restaurant for girlfriends birthday
anyone recommend anything? shes likes all the usual places like Duck and Waff, Sushi Samb, Berners Tavern and Wolsey so want something on par with that?

even something that's not fancy but good atmosphere would be good?
