Went to Arbutus. Everything I had was nice, everything my girlfriend was not so great. Service wasn't anything special and they managed to bring me a beef tartare for starter when it wasn't even on the menu. 6.5/10

I went years ago when people were really raving about it. Thought the service was poor fairly rushed and the room itself had no atmosphere.

Yo MoB I'm going to Lisbon in September, did you ever do your write-up?

Also how many days should I do, 4 nights too many or about right ? We'll only want to wander around, eat nice food, drink nice booze and chill out.

Take a walk 10 minutes off brick lane to Tayyabs or lahore imo

Yeah completely agree, the actual curry houses on brick lane are average at best. Tayyab is best booking, def get the lamb chops

Quality. Thanks for sharpish responses. Just seen that Henry Rollins is speaking to Suicide at the Ace Hotel so going to be nearby. I'll post that in a different thread now though.

tayabbs, needo or lahore are all a million times better than anything on brick lane.
only issue with tayabbs is that you will stink when you come out.
needo isnt so bad, has air con and the kitchen is now miles away from the new floors they've put in. you must get the "Daighi slow cooked dry meat"

Needo is good for what it is and I second the shout on the dry meat. Lamb (mutton?) chops are also delicous.

Looking for somewhere cheap to eat in Covent Garden/Soho tomorrow. My missus 15 year old brother is down so nowhere too out there, although he's not that fussy.

Was thinking of flat iron. Is that decent?

Flat iron is OK but be prepared to queue for at least an hour if you go after 5pm

Any places in Brighton worth a visit? Staying 2 days 1 night in a couple of weeks.
