Had no idea White Lyan closed. The only bar I've been to friends that split opinions so much (innovative vs. pretentious).

Is Super Lyan similar?

I loved white lyan but i get why people hated it, Superlyan's not as divisive.

The one time I went to White Lyan, Ryan Chetiyawardana was in there, he was very down to earth, nice guy when we chatted to him - so I'd like to think its more innovation over pretentious Nathan Barley shit (hopefully)

I think was the whole no ice and pre- prepared drinks that grated with people. Seems to think it was cheating when the bartender just pulled the drinks outta the fridge!

Exactly this.
Was a cool idea but without you seeing them make the drink, was a bit like going to the pub and getting poured a Stella from a can.

Also felt a bit like Quazar inside.

Pre-mixed is a complete piss take unless the prices reflect it. Especially if they can't make off-menu drinks.

Think they were about £7 so it kind of did, given the taste & for London anyway.

Edit: Like i said i totally get why it was so divisive but it you want a traditional bar go dandelyan.

Did some nice restaurants in Cornwall last weekend : Paul Ainsworth in Padstow, Pricey mostly not fish.

This place in Epic, overlooking Fistral beach, been here tonnes. The head chef is a guy who worked under Rick Stein. Set up on his own, he is a surfer so the location was perfect. Small place, great atmosphere and value. No pretentious website, its all about the fresh quality and vibe.

Went to Restaurant Sat Bains on Saturday for my 40th
Ate at a bench in the kitchen overlooking everything
Eaten at a few 1 star and one other 2 star but this is best food experience I’ve had without a doubt!

I’d imagine grabbing a curry in Wembley would be your best bet. Worst part of London imo, nothing in it.
