Cheers all, was mostly wondering if the 'beverage pairing' is worth it? Is it just like a wine flight?

Didn't rate Breddos (Clerkenwell), seems a bit expensive for what it is, the portions just seem miserly. Also the taco's themselves were mushy. Baja fish one tasted great though.

Best treated as a bar that does nice snacks (maybe I just didn't get that's the concept).

Despite living just down from it I’ve never been. Let me know when you’re there I’ll spy you from my window

what are the posh ones?
thanks

Fully booked all weekend unfortunately but had a good lunch at Hantverk and Found in the end. Definitely a town that needs advance bookings.

Can anyone recommend a "British" restaurant/cafe/pub near South Kensington area for Sunday lunch that isn't stuffy or £££, that can cater for a group of 8 people (including 2 kids) and take reservations. Got to play host to relatives who are flying over for a holiday and I'm stumped for ideas.

Closer to High St Ken but https://www.thebuildersarmskensington.co.uk is reasonable, always been a weekday thing so never had the Sunday grub but it's not a bad cruiser for food.

Two Lights in Hackney is great, beef dripping chip with crab on for a snack and the prawn sandwich both quality. Yet another reminder for me to not order fried chicken in a restaurant. You'd need four people to tackle what they served however nice it was.

Peg, also in Hackney, is even better. Changing blackboard menu of skewers etc over coals, yakitori style. Best dishes were chicken livers (which were a bargain at like £3 or £4) and charred broccoli with miso and walnut. I'm no expert but great natural wines too. No bookings and tiny, but Chesham Arms is two minutes away and they can call you when they get a space. Better off going for lunch or early/late though.

For anyone in Cambridge my mate (who is on Fuk somewhere) has just launched his first menu at Hot Numbers cafe. I haven't managed to go yet but it looks fantastic and he's a great chef. Jackfruit carnitas w/ charred corn salsa, mackerel w/ fennel and kohlrabi slaw, onion bhaji focaccia etc etc.

Still think Padella is up there, although not fancy and no reservations so will have to queue. Trullo is their sister restaurant although have never been so can't comment. If you want something extravagant Gloria in Shoreditch is decent too. Else give Locanda Locatelli a try, am yet to go but have heard good things.

Cheers mate. Off the back of this thread I've booked Pidgin (know it's not italian but looks great) and also Lardo. Gloria and its sister restaurant are booked up for end of July, but looks great!

Bit late but Clapton Country Club was hands down the best roast I’ve had. Everything was beyond sublime. The setting is awesome and Theon from GoT was at the table next to us. No roasts over summer but start again in sept I believe …

I thought the pizza at Lardo was pretty poor, way too much sauce.
