agree on the call RE. blue elephant, strange gaff with the waterfalls and what have you but looks bang on.
went to a Thai restaurant called Shrinam in Canary wharf with work whihc was ok if your in the area.
while i'm here went to Bombay brasserie recently on Glouscter road, v.overpriced Indian. Great decor and good food but just vastly over priced.
My local for a ruby has to be Mirch masala, one on commercial road but a few others round town. For the price highly recommend

Love The Blue Elephant, it's so tacky…Carved fruit, waterfalls, good food…good times!

Last night went to due pini, my favourite italian restaurant here in Berlin.
I had: starter: artichokes in cheese and garlic sauce, main: medallion pork fillet with salad and chips
She had: deep fried octopus, salad, potato wedges
With drinks came to €25
Can always hear the chef singing from the kitchen which adds to the atmosphere. Cheap and top food always, plus they bring you food while you wait for the main.

yeah, ive been to Ichiban three times…each time about 6 months apart..not much of a noodle dish lover (so they may be its redeeeming feature… i know they are huge, which is probably most important for most Glaswegans). I usually have the sashami, or tempura or sushi, think once i had eel. Anyway, I found the food to be as far from fresh as possible, without being inedible.
The venue itself it grotty (forgivable if the food is good), the toilets are too far away from the resturant and the 'waiter' gave me attitude cos i wouldnt sit where he wanted me to. As for japanese curries, they are shit anyway..and why go for a japanese curry in Glasgow where you cant walk two yards without stumbling across a good indian?
I used to like OKO in the merchant city when it was open, but it went downhill before it closed. Not been to the new one yet.
Sushiya in Edinburgh knocks spotss of any japanese meal ive had in Scotland.
