true, but most people just need to do silly ammounts of cardio to look like this:

if you are reasonably thin, you can get a bit of definition by doing a million sit ups, but you wont get to that stage above unless you get your body fat to about 8%
abs are made in the kitchen…
fair points. 15% body fat and you should be able to see your abs.

how do u find out your body fat??
body fat calipers as guffer has posted in that link. basically take a series of measurements on specific areas of your body and then check on a table which should give you a pretty accurate percentage.

calipers aren't particularly accurate though. My mate regularly measured his BF and thought he was around 11%. He had it done properly with some machiene reader thing and he was like 20%.

you don't see abs on 15% body fat, more like 8-10%, but guff is right, its got nearly fuck all to do with exercise and all to do with what you eat. If you then come back to the question - what’s the best way to lose fat? answer is lifting weights everytime. Cardio is a total waste of time!
Since we’re on it, personally I don’t want to see abs on a girl, i like it when their stomach is soft. Flat is fine, but not taught and hard like a bloke’s stomach. no way of really telling but, from your pics shorty, I’d say yours was just right.

Body builders when in comps are about 4% with is below what is considered healthy. pro footballers are about 8-9%. you should be able to see some definition of your abs at 15% it's the top % is what I'm saying. For clearer definition then yes less than 15% is desired.

anyone use them Tanita bodyfat scales?

i agree with weights.
why not?
you are helping to maintain muscle, and you are using a huge number of calories, and you are raising your metabolism for the rest of the day.
cardio is for fat girls who want to stay fat.
13 Jul 2006 17:15
exactly. many girls don't do weights cos they worry about gaining muscle. all the girls i see in the weights room have the best toned bodies you've ever seen. as noble woudl say, FACT.
