Phil Learney podcasts has some good info on IF. He doesn't reccomend it due to hormonal imbalances and peaks/troughs in amino levels.

Carbs are not essential at all really but they help hence essential fats and amino acids. Carbs do taste good though and help recovery!

People are right in what works for them, stick with it. It's goal dependant. Though nutrient timing I believe is important. Carbs pre workout won't be used as fuel as it will come from muscle glycogen stored but it will help repair. No mention of intra workout which for growth and sustained training is good plus means the body always has a source of readily available aminos saving that precious muscle

Cool

I've started weight training (stronglifts 5x5) 4 weeks ago and really enjoying it. The first few weeks aren't too challenging though, just focusing on form and stability. I'm now starting to look at diet and supplements to improve gains.

Why not coffee? A guy at the gym said its the only pwo he does these days

I used to be fairly supplement happy/dependant. Have whey protein once a day, purely for convenience. Just eat food, and probably more than you think you need. You don't need any of these gimmick supplements. The 0.01% difference it makes is not worth the 30 quid a month per one.

I'm nearly 16 stone fairly lean now so not the average sized gymshark wearing twat either.

Anyone tried a ketosis high fat diet approach on here, lots of advocado and coconut oil etc? Been listening to Joe Rogan and he says he's never felt better physically/emotionally etc, not sure if this has crossed the pond yet.

right what I wanted to hear. theres so much gimmicky supplement "info" going around that I can't help but feel i'm missing something somewhere. So I'm good as as long as I hit my diet goals, eat more, and keep training.

For the same price of all those supplements just buy test e + bolderone. buy something that actually works and is probably safer than taking all that shit everyday.

Yeah I did it in 2011, did'nt really do anything for me. I'm a hard gainer ectomorph so I can eat literally whatever I want and however much I want and you can still see my abs. I can see it working for Rogan and Schaub though because they are pretty endomorph guys. Also its such a pain in the arse having to eat that way all day every day, I dont care what people say.

As for supps;
Creatine
Protein
Vit D
ZMA
Super greens
