there are some frames I'd love to order online but I could never buy a pair without trying them on first. I usually have to go back a couple of times before purchasing just to be certain.

Thanks Andy - i know that shop. Cheers.

For those of you that bought frames over the internet, where did you get lenses made and fitted? Is there some huge cost tagged onto to having the frames made and fitted in a pair of frames that you didn't buy in the same shop?

^ just got mine done in specsavers. no hassle. can't remember exactly how much it was, round 30quid
20 Jan 2009 23:37
guess who i bumped into in specsavers yesterday?
21 Jan 2009 08:24
Is that 30 quid for the labour involved in the placement of the lenses?
21 Jan 2009 08:41
Oh come on! It depends on your prescription, what coatings you go for, what type of lenses you want (the thinnest possible, or just standard), etc etc
30 quid will be for a fairly standard pair of lenses with a low prescription most probably. Just phone up Specsavers / Boots or whoever, tell them you have a frame you want lenses putting in, tell them your prescription and ask for a ballpark figure.

Im calling. I mentioned placement of the lenses not production.
Glasses? Need a pair?
21 Jan 2009 08:51
What do you mean by placement of the lenses not production?
Lenses are ground and cut to order for that particular customer's prescription, frame and specifications - you can't buy lenses off the shelf!

I think im making this more difficult that it needs to be.
What i was interested to know is if a local highstreet store would place extra charges on lenses in frames that they do not sell.

I need some pics of Shuron freeways being worn, can't sem to find many online. Can anyone help out?
19 Feb 2009 00:59
I want to buy some shurons, anyone know if they mark down for customs?
19 Feb 2009 01:45
I bought the Shuron Sidewinders last week and got my lenses fitted in at Vision Express for £42.00. But your looking at around £30-£60 standard depending on where you go and the intensity of frames.

anyone heard of dita? how's the pricing like over in uk? quite forgot the price i saw 3 years back..

Hey sweeten, can you tell us what else you found on that website, it looks pretty rad!

Bit of a weird suggestion, but if any one has those 'Topman Fasion Shades' that are relativly new, not the ones with the tall eye, they're relativly wayfarerish. I tried some on to gague how some Shurons would look on but would really appreciate some vertical and horizontal eye measurements and also a bridge measurement. Thanks.
