Just came back from a weekend in Cambridge, and was thinking that it must be a pain in the arse to be a respectful Chinese tourist, and getting lumped together with the shitty Chinese tourists.

In Japanese cities all sorts of people are everywhere. What makes Chinese people a menace compared to Japanese or others?
Racism?

Such a petty moralist response.

Japanese cities are known for being oh so ethnically diverse

Still, the main tourist attractions i'd say the majority of the people there were Chinese.
The menacing bit was sharing this public space with people with no regard for any sort of personal space. That's a cultural thing apparently. Wasn't aware of it prior.

Tokyo is more diverse than most fucking idiots realise. One whole section of Shinjuku is almost all Korean. Check the africans and arabs all over Harajuku running businesses. There are A LOT of asian migrants everywhere that a lot of fucking idiots prolly figure are just more Japs. I'd rather hang out with Chinese people than Japs. One exception is loogie hocking old men. Then again oyaji breath and the same dumb broken english questions is a menace too

Places to eat
Jomon - yakitori in rappongi, busy, may have to queue so book before hand
Bugami - tonkatsu, get the pork belly cut, also in Roppongi
Savoy - really small pizza place in Azabu-Juban, cheap and decent.
PST - Another good pizza place but more expensive than Savoy, also in Roppongi
Mercer Brunch - good breakfast/brunch. Best french toast. In roppongi.
Sarabeths - breakfast place in Shinjuku station, gets really busy to book before or get there early.
Genki sushi - conveyor belt sushi, cool and cheap in Shibuya
Rigoletto Bar and Grill - cool American type grill place, decent food and cheap drinks. Paid around £80 for loads of food plus drinks. If you go, ask for the no smoking table next to the window, nice view of Tokyo and the tower.
Blue Bottle Coffee - they’ve got a few in different areas, really good drip coffee
Rokkasen - Yakiniku place (cook your own meat on a grill), try the matsusaka beef
Misono - really good teppinyaki place, try the Kobe beef
Ichiran ramen - has this about 5 times when I was there, cheap and decent ramen
Shabuzen - sukiyaki place

Things to do
Team Labs Borderless - cool light show / art display thing. Was worth going. Book tickets in advance. Go for opening as it gets very busy.
Tsukiji market/Tyosu Market - the former has now been closed and relocated to Toyosu along with the tuna auction. You can book tickets to see the auction online.
Maricar - book in advance. We did the 1 hour course which was more than enough. Done it in the evening so everything was lit up. Make sure you dress warm cos you’ll freeze your bollocks off when driving. Cost around £100.
Sumo Wresting Stables - book this as well. Cost around £100 to watch them train but was worth it IMO. Can book via Voyagin.
Golden Gai - narrow alleyways with bars that seat around 5-6 people each, worth checking out

Got a list of areas worth checking out, let me know if you want it and I’ll dig it out

Tried that, went to one where the locals went in Shibuya and it was trash. Only found a couple I liked when I went.
