Looks amazing goldie… Cool

I'm bored and fedup of my super budget graphite dunlop clubs, these things are super flexy…
So, I'm looking at either;
http://www.direct-golf.co.uk/golf_irons%2Fwilson%2Ffatshaft_v_irons_golf_irons%2Fp7777

OR should i bite the bullet and get;
http://www.golfonline.co.uk/wilson-staff-di9-irons-steel-shaft-2009-p-4577.html
? bargain on that site, most other sites are well over 300…
the second set is more than i really want to pay, but i dont want to buy the first set, and then want to upgrade in 6months time again.
or if anyone could recommend a set for similar price?
i also have a pretty consistent hook (which im blaming my current graphite shafts for), so would these help at all? considering offset etc?
i really am pretty clueless, but any help/info would be great, i've got another lesson tuesday at my local club, so will ask his advice too, and see if i can test some clubs

Really you wanna go somewhere that you can try the clubs out for yourself, it's alright reading from a specsheet / reviews from other buyers but you might find that whenever you try them out that they're not really "doing it" for you. I know that for example this time last year (not sure if they're still doing it) at around the 279 price you can get a set of bespoke Mizunos from JJB (excluding additionals like grips, different shafts) but yeah, don't just dive in - there's many places that let you try out clubs be it in a net or driving range like World of Golf for example.

Played at my dad's course this morning. Here http://www.eaglescliffegolfclub.co.uk/ and came within less than 6 inches of a hole in one, absolutely gutted. Funny thing is, the ball rolled 15 feet past the hole and i three putted from there Laughing out loud Apparently the whiskey you're supposed to buy for a hole in one at that club is £80 a bottle Eek

On a side note my mate at skysports reviewed the new Rockliffe Hall golf club last week: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12230_5500692,00.html. It's the longest course in europe and has the only five star hotel in the north east. It's owned by Middlesbrough Football Club and has an island hole like the 17th at Sawgrass. He said once it's matured it'll be unreal. Membership is 2k.

i use a ping g10. i don't normally hit it this far but i absolutely middled it. i didn't really have any concept of how far i hit the driver (other than it being into the netting at 220 uphill on the range) but i bought a course guide with yardages so i knew it was 268 yards to this big oak tree and i was about 30 yards past it.

drive for show putt for dough tho

WARNING SHAMLESS SELF PRAISE POST …

I shot a 79 today, with a handicap of 24, so net 55!

I heard the handicap commitee sharpening their knives.
More than worth taking a say off work.

where are you playing? people dress up in old golf gear quite often, esp on stag events.
So long as you dont start shouting on the course, picking up other peoples balls or walking on other peoples fairways you will be fine wearing a monkey costume.

good work. only every broke 80 once (77 on a par 69) though many scores 82-85.

after getting a par on every hole at the course where i am a member (not on same round obviously) i am now trying for a birdie on every hole and have managed it on six of them so far. will be difficult as a few of the par 4s are over 400 yds.

dogwalker picked my ball up which was just short of the first green the other day and started shouting to the blokes on the second tee that they had "left their ball". did a mentaller Laughing out loud

currently waiting for my cg14 60 deg lob wedge to arrive

Got the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce tournament next week at The Carrick, Loch Lomond with the web design team. I've made a grave mistake when they asked my handicap for some reason I lied and the first number that came to my head was 14 Sad oh how I'm going to disappoint them when they see me hacking up the fairway Laughing out loud

Laughing out loud good luck with that one!
purchase update; decided to get a set of Mizuno MX-950 irons (with 3+4 hybrids), after trying a few clubs i found these the best by far, hopefully these will last me a while too.
Only issue, is that the set goes from 3 to PW, so theres no SW/LW etc, which I'll probably need to buy seperately, and am not looking to spend too much money
