Re: the whole "random" thing. That comes about when people are too wussy to correct their girlfriends.

My girlfriend started to use the word "actually" in an unnecessary way so I sat her down and had a chat. Swift action, it must be swift.

think i'm waiting for a white van man to deliver something to my house on behalf of DHL.. i hate DHL, they are shit, and o2 sent my phone with them.

i take it Released to other delivery agent 29/01/10 04:18 ASHTON SERVICE CENTRE means that dhl have passed it to a fucker with his own van to do their work for them, i've been in my front room watching this morning, loose women and some other shitty household shows on tv so not to miss them, and reading every news story i can find on the web. i'm bored out my mind, really hope they turn up or i'll be so mad.

working out how to use various items in my house to do some workouts.

my x-ray appointment at the hospital.

Only half the machines work in Sheffield at any one time, you know that.
The abbey national atm at the shell garage at end of ecclesall road stole my card on monday.second time in the last year its done it. my mate had his card cloned by that garage aswell.

Worst of all as it stole my card some dreadlocked crackhead came out the garage and sang 'fuck you white man', laughing at me as he walked past, they were unrelated incidents though i think.

It always makes me laugh when my mate who lives in a two-up-two-down terrace house at Hunters Bar is going on about how nice it is where he lives, like it's Knightsbridge or some kind of fucking Shangri-La.

My dad uses the word actually to finish every other sentence. So annoying and condescending.

Smith will tell you how bad it is.

He had a huff the other day as picked him up on it as it was driving me nuts.

My girl friend hates how I use you know at the end of every sentence and exactly when I'm agreeing with her. It pisses me off more the way she gets so wound up about it, although I wish I didn't say either of them all the time Oops

Airline and flights websites. Most of them are absolute shit. You select where to fly from and to and then you get an error message or a message telling you that these dates are not available. Then you discover it's because the destination list doesn't repopulate itself when you've selected your departure airport. So you're searching for flights that don't exist. Half of the sites I tried have this problem.

Then there's site's that do repopulate the destination list when you select the airport you're flying from but don't give you alternative dates if there are no flights on the date you have selected so you have to keep trying different dates.

Then there's the sites that let you choose one way flights but not if the airport you're flying from is outside the UK (I found a cheap flight going out and wanted to find a cheap one coming back)

And a special mention goes to Jet2. Their initial price does not include taxes, meals, luggage, which is a trick a number of other sites pull, but then when you think you've got the final price you come to select your seats and they add the price of your seat on to the total!!! As far as I know you can't choose to stand on a plane so how can the price of the seat not be included in the price of the ticket?

The only airline site that had none of the above problems was Cyprus Airways but pretty much every other site is 5-10 years behind the rest of the e-commerce world

no beef but i so didnt understand much of this. you sound like a poster on a business travel forum, do you really fly that much to have this much of an insight to the ways and wherefores of travel websites?
and please tell me firstly what the hell 'repopulate the destination' means, and secondly how the hell you know of the term and what it means, and why you know some sites dont do this? Puzzled

Basically. When you select your departure (eg gatwick), what is supposed to happen, is the list that says destination is supposed to update, with all of the flights that go from the place you're departed from (eg gatiwck to cyprus).

Not all of the destinations that the company flies to.

So he puts in his departure place (gatwick), then selects Amsterdam. But when he tries to book it, they say theres an error, because they don't do flights from gatwick to amsterdam. They actually do heathrow to amsterdam.

So he's saying that the site is shit, because it should update the destination list for each of the departure places. Otherwise he's selecting destinations, that might not actually go from the place he wants to fly from.

That's exactly it

Noble, most of the sites don't allow you to select "All London" or in my case "All Midlands". If they did that would be problem solved

If I was trying to book a package holiday this problem wouldn't exist cos they match everything up for you, but I'm booking a villa and then booking the flights myself and getting the dates to match up is a pain and the problems I listed make it even harder
