If they have a twitter, complain on there and they might sort it out quickly for you, so they don't look bad. I did it with DPD and got something delivered late the same evening. The difference might be that there's tons of people complaining about DPD on twitter everyday, so they'll lose business if they don't show they're doing something about it.

I sell art prints. Royal Mail just managed to squash a postal tube, damaging a print, and then leave it outside in the rain! Now had to send another one and no doubt spend an eon chasing RM for compo!

what's up with the new youtube filtering options:

Upload Date:
Anytime
Today
This Week
This Month

How do you view videos in order they've been posted? And what if the video was posted more than a month ago?

so stupid.

I moaned about something similar before, but are web designers now actively refusing to design sites to work with internet explorer? Urban Outfitters is awful using IE - http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/icat/mjackets

Twitter redirects me to the mobile site if I'm on IE

Job applications. What the fuck is a video interview? Why does it exist? What is the point?

"Candidates are asked to produce a short video of themselves using a camera or mobile phone. They are given a list of 3 questions to answer they then upload the footage to YouTube, sending a link to our selector."

Also what is the point of multi stage interviews and assessment days? What can't you tell from a fucking CV and short interview with a candidate. It's just fucking stupid.

Do these things just exist to give people jobs or something?

Makes sense to me.

Multi-stage interviews are used in jobs where there are or expect to have a large pool of applicants/candidates for the particular job. New methods of assessment are selection are utilised to find the pest possible person for the job and to save money and costs for the business whilst minimising the time consuming nature of recruitment for the HR department. Video interviews however are HR managers attempting to be cool and impress their bosses with new recruiting methods imo. My manager loves skype interviews because he can host them from his kitchen on his Iphone. Depends on the job, but I’ve only seen them used when the job is in another country.

Can't even count how many times I've had to go through more than 4 stages when applying.
I applied for a British Gas engineering job not too long ago:

1.Online application 2.Four online timed tests 3.Telephone interview 4.Shortlisting 5.Submitting details with Experian for background checks (basically re doing the whole of the online application again and scanning passports etc and it's not like the application forms are short these days) 6.Group Interview 7.one to one interview.

Sad

I miss the days of just handing in your CV and if they liked the look of it they'd invite you to an interview and that was it.
