Was planning on posting about this. Any recommendations of the models to look at for the smaller bonce, as all the ones posted do look massive.

Zephirin is pretty slim, the Jax too to an extent. JMM is know for thick acetate frames so the only other option is their titanium pieces.

I bought the Zephirin optical frames about 2 years ago, had to back them after a week. Just so big.

I think some people are confusing slim / thick material with wide / deep fronts.

The people asking for small frames are generally talking about overall width, not how chunky the frames are. If you look on the JMM site each model is given a size category (small, medium and wide).

Also the lens and bridge widths are included. Remember that the overall width of the frame is dictated by the width of the endpieces (the bits that stick out to the side and meet the temples). Some models have extra long ones, some are shorter, but you can estimate a frame's width by adding the bridge width plus two lens widths and then 10mm for each endpiece.

So for the Zephirin for example:

endpiece 10mm + eye size 44mm + bridge 25mm + eye size 44mm + endpiece 10mm = 129mm

https://jacquesmariemage.com/product/948/

129mm is quite narrow for a men's frame. There may be some margin of error in the estimated endpiece width of course. An average male optical frame width is usually in the region of 132 to 136mm.

If you Google this phrase it will show you the frames that JMM classes as small:

site: jacquesmariemage.com SIZING: SMALL

The briefcase is lovely. Family Affair do the same one for a lot less if you ever fancy it!

Did you get the list from Dickens? Which Buckley are you looking at? The Argyle is an amazing colour but I think the Noir could be great too. I was told the Pine is basically Gucci green. Cool

Not sure if these guys will sell to non-trade customers but these are who the industry buy their cases from.

That's crazy!
Did you get some just to collect or do they all get worn? As from my own experience some glasses look incredible in hand but just don't match your face as well as others.

Bit of both tbh. The Kobo I think I may struggle with the Fade colourway but it is an amazing frame and harder to come by. When the Root Beer Kobo arrives I'll assess but I may flip the Fade and look for something else. Or sit on it and sell at a later date!

It's more a case of get it and then work it out rather than deliberate as they will sell out and then you spend years looking for them or paying a premium. For example, the two middle Vintage Tort frames are really hard to come by and are very popular; luckily I found them on ebay and via a shop in Belgium on Instagram.

There is definitely a collector mindset first and then use second. Some I haven't got round to wearing, e.g. The Dealan (top right) whereas the Jax and Fellini (top left and below respectively) I use all the time.

I've actually been eyeing the one up a few times in recent weeks. I've seen a pair that could be an option but would rather get the Altan if I can. Definitely prefer them over the Peyote.
