Some guy on the Palace forum I frequent set up a syndicate for 10 people with an initial $30 investment(some put in more later) at the start of 2013. He's since vanished and deleted his facebook, twitter, linkedin etc Laughing out loud

Cheers for the hook up Nobes, just got the keys now. I always thought it was a pain in the arse that I couldn't drive, but now I can just hire a driver.

Have i got this right then, that some fukers got on at about $1 and now they are $1000 pop. So if you bought 1000 you are now a millionaire (in dollars)?

Success stories of fukers and how they have managed to pay off their mortgages ASAP please.

Hahah, not quite off to the Maldives, well I could go, but i would still have to come home.

I am likely going to spend some of the coins i mine over the next few weeks on a mortgage deposit and then get out of the game whilst I still can. Paid off a credit card this afternoon, and might buy some APC boots later, that is about as frivolous as i'm going to get for the time being.
I didn't manage to buy as low as $1 sadly. Never spent over £60, and some were well under 40 from what I can remember.

P.S, if anyone wants some coins, i am selling a few at the moment: https://localbitcoins.com/ad/34897/purchase-bitcoin-bank-transfer-united-kingdom-united-kingdom

You just need to look at how many LTC you have and how much they're selling for on the exchanges. £25 seems steep for a currency selling at 29-30 dollars on the exchanges.

na i bought them 48 hours ago. and yes. you pay a slight premium from litecoinlocal but its easiest way to get with GBP. unless you already have BTC in an e-wallet then probably best to change them up via BTC-e

Think some people need to thrown out some screenshots of their bitcoin accounts/wallets similar to the betting thread to make sure they're not telling porkies.

Sold 2.5 coins over the last few days, one was at the weekend, so got £600 for it, and I just sold 1 and a bit now on Local Bitcoins for £900

Over the next few weeks I should mine around 25 coins which by today's estimates is £15,325, I already have some money saved to top it up. I have not looked at a mortgage or anything yet, this has all happened quite quickly.

Over the life time of the equipment I will be receiving tomorrow/Friday and based on how difficulty is rising, all in all I reckon I will have about 65 extra BTC (including the 25 mentioned above)

The credit card was a Capital One card which had about £500 on.

Good detective work, I was asking for the code so that I can purchase the boots, I think i asked about them in the boots and shoes thread too as have been waiting until today as I've noticed it gradually increasing over the last few days.

I can't believe you questioned the code, I am known as being tight fisted on here.

They aren't mine. Sorry about any confusion, i mentioned initially that I have, or had at that point about 12.

I will be getting more over the next few weeks/ months as I have some equipment coming which I didn't pay for, so all profit with the exception of the power.

The graph is just a screen shot from Clark Moody: http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com

The 100 in the corner doesn't represent what someone is holding.

I've never said I had 100 by the way.

gojira. wrote: the chances of you mining a block by yourself as a solo miner is near impossible, though if you have some cheap, cost effective equipment sat around doing nothing then the gains are good. Think of it as a lottery that happens every 10 minutes.

I bought in before the hype so bought my coins when they were pretty cheap, then got more and more into it. Saying that, i should have actually invested some proper cash when I had a chance, rather than just buying 12.

I mine through http://eligius.st/~gateway/ but only on a small scale, the real stuff kicks off at the end of this week when I'll be getting about 2ths of equipment.
