I have a Reiss suit, it's ok quality but nothing special. Paul Smith usually have decent cuts but not worth full price.
I'd check out Suitsupply or possibly check out some Italian outlets for some decent made in Italy suits (for example Luxyuu.com has CKC suits for cheap) or cheap Tonello.

Spencer Hart - Had that first fitting on 15th December, getting married in 3 days time and STILL I don't have a suit that is the correct size.

This can only be described as easily one of the worst experiences of my life, from start to finish the entire process has been an absolute disaster.

Will post the whole story later.

Fuck me that's shocking to hear Ruben. Ive been going there 6 Years and its always been the best service Ive ever had anywhere. Anyone I have ever recommended it to has aswell. How the hell they have managed to fuck it up I dont know. Are they compensating you in anyway? Honestly shocked Jawdropping!

Who you been dealing with? They have had quite a few new staff join recently and I always go to Joe who is one of the directors.

I'll try to quickly explain what happened, bit busy today obviously!

Had the first fitting, went back 6 or 7 weeks later and the jacket was far too small. Grant (the guy who dealt with (caused) the whole ordeal) assured me it would be fine and they would let it out.

Went back a few weeks later, jacket had been let out as far as it possibly could have been and was still too small. Grant gulped a few times and checked the original measurements and then basically held his hands up and said he had completely fucked up and taken the measurements down completely wrong.

So the whole thing needed to be remade. Went back a few weeks ago, jacket was better but obviously needed adjusting and the trousers were too tight so needed to be let out.

So I was due to collect it this week, spoke to Grant on Wednesday and as I couldn't get into town until 8pm he said it was no problem - he would have it sent over the concession in Selfridges, explain everything to them so when I got there it would be an easy fitting and if any minor tweaks needed to be made it would be done in 24hrs.

Got to Selfridges shortly after 8, headed to the SH concession - told the guy who I was and he looked blankly back at me and didn't have a clue what I was talking about (bare in mind by this point I had been up since 4:15 in the morning and had done a 13 hour day before getting on the train up there). He disappeared, came back and sure enough nothing had been sent over. He called Grant's mobile and put me onto him - he apologised profusely and said it was fine and that he would have it sent out to me on Thursday. I told him it wasn't fine and that the reason I was there was because he told me I needed to have this final fitting, he said don't worry I guarantee it will be perfect - I said not good enough. So he said he'd meet me at Brook St in half an hour and we would do it there.

Met him at 9, he turned up munching a sandwich with crumbs in his tache and then started rummaging through the suits and panicking. Then after 5 minutes he found it.

Jacket was good, put the trousers on and could hardly get them over my thighs - they had been taken in by however much they should have been let out.

He assured me they would be altered and sent to me by the following afternoon - I had no choice but to go along with it.

So on Thursday afternoon I called (couldn't believe I didn't get a call to reassure me it was all going ok) and he told me they had left in a cab ten mins earlier (3pm). The drive from SH to my house should be undr an hour and a half with traffic.. Half five, nothing. 6pm still nothing, called SH, Grant wasn't there but the bloke I spoke to said he would call Addison Lee and see what was going on.

Got a call back a few minutes later and he apologised and said thee had been a mistake and they should have been sent in a direct car but they had gone with some other things that needed to be dropped off on the way and that was why it was delayed. Should be with me in 20 mins.

They turned up, and do fit - however, they are still ever so slightly snug and not only that but there it literally nothing left to take them out any further if I put on even an ounce of weight.

I have been compensated with a shirt (altered) and a tie, but that was after the first major fuck up when the wrong size suit was made. Nothing since then, no offer of anything at all.

I will obviously be documenting this whole thing more accurately when I get back from my honeymoon and making a formal complaint to head office.

Anyway, I have a suit for the wedding tomorrow which I guess is the most important thing.

I am sure there are other bits that make the story more shocking but I can't remember them at the moment.

Grant sounds like a fucking idiot. This was one of my concerns since the expansion 18 months ago that the quality or service would dilute due to the bigger investment but myself and friends have had nothing but exceptional service. The brand went from a small team on Saville Row to the large Brook St Store and concessions in Selfridges, Liberty and several other stores worldwide and because of this have hired a lot more staff. Ive had nothing but excellent service for the last 6 years and have been fitted by several different staff (I always try to goto Joe the Retail Director but he is not always about) and they have always been great and Ive not had a single problem with any suit Ive had made. I picked up the overcoat I ordered on the same day as you Ruben only the other week and its spot on. Sounds to me like you had a chancer with Grant and for a premium brand and cost should not have experienced the service you had. Make sure you document as you said and send it to the head office. I meeting with Joe next week so I can mention something to him aswell if you want and ensure your issue is looked into properly. Good luck with the Wedding fella, will drop you a PM and see if I can help. IMO you should be getting compensated and reassured much more than you already have.

Nothing tops off monumental errors being made like a complete lack of communication. Anyway, hope the Wedding goes smoothly Ruben, and definitely get on that complaint; someones gotta be accountable for that level of service.
