Thanks for the suggestions guys. Ubercool Think I'll buy one from each retailer to find out which one fits me best, seeing as the retailers mentioned all have decent return policies.

Is asking to shorten the arms from the shoulder on a blazer a bad idea or not?

Have a blazer which I want to reduce the arm length by about ~1.5 inch, but cuffs have raw edges - so shortening from there seems more of a hassle.

Yeah M&S probably best, even better if you live near one of their retail outlets. Picked up a 300 quid suit for 79 quid few weeks ago.

That's the right way to do it unless you have huge bis

How should suit trousers sit on shoes/what should the length/break be?

I finally got around to getting some trousers shortened on a suit I've had for a year, I asked for them to be taken up a touch more than they initially suggested and now I'm not sure if they are a bit short Oops Not sure if its just because Im not used to wearing dress trousers and normally have 2" of stacking on my jeans Laughing out loud

Googled it and they seems about right, looks shit when there is loads of excess over the shoe?

1.5" will be fine. anything over 2" will be awkward/problem

Traditional = single break at front
Cool kids = no break
Given up on life = stack and stacks

Also largely depends on hem width, and shoe style

I'm getting married abroad next May, it should (fingers crossed) be 20 odd degrees. Does anyone have any suggestions for a smart suit that's not going to leave me walking down the aisle dripping with sweat?

Thanks, looking forward to it now, it feels like it has come around so quickly! Haha, I don't think I own any Bapes anymore.

Nice one Homer, I will get cracking.

In case anyone was interested I ended up getting three of these Nick Hart for Austin Reed shirts:

http://www.austinreed.co.uk/fcp/product/austinreed//AR-RED-Nick-Hart-Blue-Pinpoint-Shirt/14202

3 for 2 + 20% voucher came out to be £18.67 a shirt + 3% Quidco cashback.

It was from their S/S '14 collection. 100% cotton and the fit is near on perfect apart from the sleeve cuffs, where I had to move the button over a little to narrow the cuff opening.

I did try (and returned) their twill shirts from A/W '13-'14, but the sleeves on them were like bingo wings.
