True that, I can only think of 2/3 stand out tracks from it.
ostentatious over hyped shite really, and what happened to "Death to autotune" ? Half the album sounds like it was co written by the Chipmunks.

Seb, have you listened to Wugazi yet ? Well worth a listen.

Yea, really like Wugazi, although, some of it is a little cringeworthy in parts, but I can get past it because whoever did it, executed it well. Plus I'm a big Fugazi and Wu Tang fan alike.

I agree with the cringeworthy, but its nothing compared to Kanye rapping about having staples in his dick.

Cheers Sixtwo, I know lots of people have used it, but I meant I'm looking for a very specific version.

It's the one that appears in Once Upon a Time in New York: The Birth of Hip Hop, Disco and Punk at 47:00. The track listing just says it's the original by the Incredible Bongo Band. Maybe it is the original I'm looking for Oops

Mad to think one of the most important songs that has influenced Hip-Hop was made famous by a band Cliff Richard used to be in Laughing out loud

Yeah me too without a doubt and most others involved too but on the other hand I don't really give a fuck what Drake or J-Cole have to say about anything.

Though I don't have much time for either I definitely don't consider them equal talents chill. I just reckon its a bit sad that for someone as prolific as 9th the promotional spots are handed to 2 unrelated and relatively young (career) artists.

surely thats a good thing? hiphop needs new people coming through, especially people like j.cole, who in the whole are trying to keep that true essence and skill alive, rather than spamming out radio tracks.
a true hiphop fan reminisces over the 'golden era' of hiphop, but theres only a certain amount of times you can jack off over illmatic (i know).
im genuinely so excited about j.cole. even people like common have just gone terrible.

Funny you say a true hip-Hop fan reminisces over the golden era of Hip Hop. That track's beat you posted sounds like it was lifted straight from '96. Even samples Nas' 'The World Is Yours'. He has decent a flow, at least from what I can hear in this track.
